First - as of a few hours ago Visions of Heat is officially out! YIPPEE!! :)
Second - I'm blogging over at RRAH about psychic powers - come over and join me. And I'm also over at Between The Covers, talking about happy thoughts, so swing by that way too. (How can I be in two places at once? Welllll, I have the power to replicate copies of myself, like the bank-robber guy in X-Men 3. Tangent - someone please tell me it wasn't really the Last Stand? More X-Men please!).

Jamie Madrox - Multiple Man. Yes I love the X-Men. :)
Erm. I hope there's more X-Men, I think it was left very open ended. Fingers crossed the Wolverine film is still a go.
I just wanted to tell you that I really liked Visions. Seeing Judd at work in all his Psy glory, really rocked!!!! I had my doubts about being able to get into a psy hero , but now i've changed my tune. Judd is SUPER HOT!!!!!!
You write ALPHA males really well, and I'll be waiting on pins and needles for the rest of the stories in the series. I can't wait to see what you have in store for Clay, let alone Hawke and Dorian. I hope VoH goes to the top of the bestseller lists and is a great success to you.
Lesley - I'm a total X-Men geek. Used to get up ridiculously early to watch it on Sat mornings on tv.
Sweet - thank you!! :) Judd hit me sideways as a hero, too. At first, I didn't think he'd be getting his own book but um, he didn't agree. As for Clay - he's giving me fits right now but his books will be very emotionally wrenching, I think. It's ripping out my heart as I write it.
"It's ripping out my heart as I write it."
GOOD! I mean, uh, sorry to hear that. Really. ;)
Raises hand ummmm I'm an X-men geek TOO can anyone say GAMBIT.(Its really sad that I lust after comic book characters.) :)
Jennifer - I almost cried twice today. I'm sure you're really sad to hear that ;)
Sweet - OMG Gambit! He was my favorite. I had a total crush on him - ok, maybe I still do. I was so disappointed when he wasn't in the movie.
I will always love Lucas & Sascha best but i also love Vaughn & Faith. Can't help it. Judd is warming up enough to get hot, maybe even super hot like sweet is saying. I'm counting on you to make it so. PLEASE, PLEASE, tell me Hawkes' book is coming out SOON. I hope it's not with Sienna Lauren. Oh well, I just have to wait and see.
Visions of Heat was so goood. I can't wait for Judd's story
Congrats on having the book out! Woohoo! I can't wait to get it once it hits our local Borders.
I already ordered my second copy. *g* I can't wait for the next book. It'll be a looooong wait.
Nalini, almost cried doesn't count. If you manage to make yourself cry while writing the story, then I may feel some sympathy. Cause, then, you know, that means I'm liable to cry while reading it.
It does make me wonder, though, exactly what you're doing to your poor characters. Twisting the screws some, huh?
And I'm in the camp that hopes Hawke and Sienna are a match. I like their chemistry.
As for X-Men, I was a big Rogue fan. I felt so sorry for her. To have all that power and long so much for love and just the ability to touch someone else without repercussions. Now that situation's enough to make you cry, comic book character or not.
Jennifer did you ever read the comics?
In the Age of Apocalypse storyline, Rogue was with Magneto, he was able to touch her because he could create a bio-magnetic field around his body, and they had a baby called Charles.
I hasten to add this was a much younger Magneto than is portrayed in the films.
Lesley, I read a few of the comics, but mostly my X-Men knowledge comes from the awesome Saturday cartoons and the movies.
In the comics, were they happy together? I can't wrap my mind around Rogue and MAGNETO! I mean, what about Gambit? Of course, in the cartoon, Magneto wasn't really old, but he didn't seem at all interested in Rogue. It was always she and Gambit who danced around each other. And THAT playboy, well, don't even get me started. He KNEW how Rogue felt about him. Just because they couldn't touch ... huh ... he should'a just stayed celibate. I'm mean that way. If she can't have any, he shouldn't either. ;)
I really enjoyed the Young Teen Titan comic books, but I didn't really read a lot of them. They got to be too expensive and my allowance wasn't all that generous.
Speaking of comic books, I just saw this: Comic book hero Captain America dies
NEW YORK - Captain America has undertaken his last mission — at least for now. The venerable superhero is killed in the issue of his namesake comic that hit stands Wednesday, the Daily News reported.
On the new edition's pages, a sniper shoots down the shield-wielding hero as he leaves a courthouse, according to the newspaper.
It ends a long run for the stars-and-stripes-wearing character, created in 1941 to incarnate patriotic feeling during World War II. Over the years, an estimated 210 million copies of "Captain America" comic books, published by New York-based Marvel Entertainment Inc., have been sold in a total of 75 countries.
But resurrections are not unknown in the world of comics, and Marvel Entertainment editor in chief Joe Quesada said a Captain America comeback wasn't impossible.
Still, the character's death came as a blow to co-creator Joe Simon.
"We really need him now," said Simon, 93, who worked with artist Jack Kirby to devise Captain America as a foe for Adolf Hitler.
According to the comic, the superhero was spawned when a scrawny arts student named Steve Rogers, ineligible for the army because of his poor health but eager to serve his country, agreed to a "Super Soldier Serum" injection. The substance made him a paragon of physical perfection, armed only with his shield, his strength, his smarts and a command of martial arts.
In the comic-book universe, death is not always final. But even if Captain America turns out to have met his end in print, he may not disappear entirely: Marvel has said it is developing a Captain America movie.
I can't believe they killed Captain America. I just bought and watched the animated "Ultimate Avengers: The Movie," which has Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, the little Wasp woman and her husband. Oh, and I also recently bought and enjoyed the animated "The Invincible Iron Man." As you can see, I didn't leave my love of comics and animated films behind in my youth.
Quick reply because I'm running out the door - big smooches to all of you for your comments about VOH! :)
As for Hawke, well now, I'm sure you guys don't really want to know. What would be the fun in that? *g*
They actually killed Captain America? Who else are they gonna kill next? Thanks for the update.
First off, I found your book through Gena Showalter's blog, and I'm really glad she mentioned you. The summaries to "Slaves to Sensation" and "Visions of Heat" intrigued me, and I ended up going to a bookstore near my home yesterday hoping to be able to buy both books. They only had StS though much to my disappointment.
Anyway, I found myself starting StS at 10:00pm last night, and I NEVER even put the book down. I read it until 2:00am! It was a great book. Very interesting, and I absolutely loved it! I definitely plan on buying Visions of Heat!! You have a new fan here!
Ainsley - I read an interview about that somewhere. They sort of said it was open-ended, so....
Abby - thank you!! There's no better compliment to me a writer than knowing you couldn't put down StS! Hope you weren't too sleepy all day...and that Visions of Heat keeps you up too!! *g* And isn't Gena awesome? I adore her!
