Lamposts Can be Interesting

I took this picture on a visit to Sakurajima, an active volcano on the island of Kyushu, Japan. When I say active, I mean it has smoke coming out the top of it pretty much every day. Yup, smoke visible from miles away. And yet people still live around it!

This is a very interesting lampost because it not only has a volcano, it has a certain vegetable famous in the area. Anybody care to guess what that vegetable is? (No googling!)
