Website Updates & Reader Interview: Amy B

We've just completed the website updates - including the blurb for Dorian's book. The setup for Hostage to Pleasure actually contains a spoiler for Mine to Possess, so I'd recommend reading the blurb after you read MtP. :) Here's the link to the main page of the website.

I've also got a great reader interview for you - this week's interviewee is Amy B!! :)

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi Nalini. My name is Amy and currently I am an unemployed pharmaceutical engineer, hopefully the unemployed part will be obsolete soon, living in Northern California. What is a pharmaceutical engineer you ask, we are engineers responsible for making sure the equipment used to make drugs are up to standards set by all the different regulatory agencies. I have always loved reading and have always had a book collection. When I was young, my mom would punish me, when I was bad, by taking away my books!

2. Are you a hoarder or do you give your books away?

HOARDER! I seems to justify buying bookcases because they "fill up the empty walls"! Why hang picture when you could use that wall for a bookcase! I do occasionally sort through my books and donate them or take them to the used bookstore to resell/donate. This usually happens when I move. I try to do so every couple of years just keep things manageable (although, each move seems to move me into bigger place, *sigh*)

3. What author might tempt you into turning stalker?

Christine Feehan, because I know that she is geographically close and it wouldn't require relocating. I really like all her books and would love to get the inside scoop on what is going to happen next.

4. How susceptible are you to chocolate?

Depends on the time of the month. Unfortunately for me, excessive chocolate (which for me means more than one piece or one hot chocolate) gives me migraines. *sigh*

5. Favorite book? Why?

Hmm... tough question. It changes nearly weekly. The ones that stick with me are the Chronicles of Narnia and the Lord of the Rings. They are just great fantasy novels and take the reader to new and exciting worlds. Though lately, Caressed by Ice has been keeping me fascinated (I just keep re-reading it!).

6. If you knew you were going to be stuck on a desert island, what three things would you take with you?

Lots and lots of sparkling water, my iPod (along with something the power it using solar power), and a really sexy guy to keep me... uh... company! *smirk*

7. What did you eat for breakfast?

Tea and muffin or scone. Whatever I've baked recently.

8. How many books in your current to-be-read pile?

Currently it's at about 25 and keeps growing.

9. Describe your idea of a perfect hero.

Strong, loyal, sexy guy with a great sense of humor.

* Which character in a book do you relate most with?

Brenna. Having overcome past abuse by confronting it and seeking help has made me a stronger person as a whole. We can only truly heal when we are ready confront it and willing to ask for help when needed.

* If you were in the Psy/Changeling World, what side would you be in?

I would definitely be a changeling, hopefully a tiger :-). I think we have animals inside us and they should be allowed to be free and we should all be more careful with the environment to keep our planet blue and green forever.

Ms. Nalini~already read the blurb, didn't give THAT much away. If only more were given. September is soooo far away!

Ms. Amy- Chocolate gives you migraines??!?!!!! Poor you! I have friends like that! It's alright though, you'll save the money on chocolate for more books to cover the walls! ^_^ Ms. Feehan is an incredibly nice person. Very sweet and I totally agree on the not moving part.

Amy - what an amazing interview! All the best with the job hunting (I'm keeping my fingers crossed...which is tricky while typing :).

Thanks all. I totally LOVE chocolate but it is sad that it does not love me back. *sigh*

Job hunting is a pain in the neck and being unemployed is painful on the wallet.

Amy: good luck with job hunting :)

Nalini: I cheated (I´m still waiting for my Amazon shipment, so I didn´t the book), but it was like having to kilos of dulce de leche icecream in front of me and not eating at least one :) And cheating was worth it, because I LOVED the excerpt. I just knew that woman and her son her important :) Now I´ll have to wait until late September, when I´ll get the new book. Any chance it will be released sooner??? ;)

Now -sorry-, another question to do with intuition, and rather general so you can answer it :) Does Vasic have a big role to play in a future book?

Great interview, Amy. I really loved your answers.

I'm afraid to admit that I have to resort to taking away my youngest daughter's books when I need to punish her, too. Being denied the TV, computer or even playdates with her friends don't make a difference at all. Its the books she adores, and sadly I have to deny her them to get my disciplinary message across. Fortunately it doesn't happen often. But still... I always feel so guilty about it.

Amy, great interview. Sorry bout the migraines, i can relate. I've been a diehard chocolate lover since forever. I just became allergic 3 months ago, I break out in hives if I eat it now. Good luck with the job hunting.

Nalini, I read the blurb, and now I'm so looking forward to the book. September is so far away. I'm keeping busy with school and lots of reading to distract me from HTP.
