___________

It's been all go since I arrived in the U.S. I had a fantastic time at RomCon! I posted some photos from it over at Oddshots if you'd like to have a look - I plan to post up some more (likely when I'm back in NZ).

For today, I've got an image from the stunning Rocky Mountain National Park. It's an amazing, amazing place and I'm so glad I got the chance to visit.

Talking about amazing things - I've seen the cover for Archangel's Consort and it is wicked-awesome. I can't share it just yet as it's not quite final, but trust me, you will all love it!

Also, I wanted to post up a link - this week's Book Chat over at Bitten By Books is about the Psy/Changeling Series, so swing by and join in the discussion.

I hope you're all having a wonderful week!

Some Good News

I'm absolutely delighted to announce that Elena from Angels' Blood won the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Award for Best Urban Fantasy Protagonist. Go Elena!!

This is the UK/Aus/NZ cover if you haven't seen it before - in honor of the fact that AB has just released in New Zealand. I'm very excited about seeing it in the stores here :-)

In further good news, several of my books are to be translated into Spanish (the first two GH books, and the first three Psy/Changeling books). Woohoo!!

For the Kiwis, I did a Radio NZ interview this morning. I'm also in New Idea magazine this week, so have a look-see :)

Readingwise, I wanted to mention Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts which was released last week. It's a wonderful book. I'm really loving the Bride Quartet series - can't wait for Parker's story. I just know fireworks are going to fly there!

p.s. We have an a
wesome guest tomorrow, so don't forget to drop in.

Good News & Friday Book Club

First, some awesome news - the German translation of Hostage to Pleasure has hit the bestseller lists!! Thank you to all my German readers :-)

Now, the bookclub. To start with, I must rave about Meljean Brook's steampunk novella in the upcoming Burning Up anthology (out in August). It's all kinds of awesome and then some. I now plan to stalk her until she gives up the full length steampunk novel (The Iron Duke) that she has releasing in October. *rubs hands*

I also read John Wyndham's classic Day of the Triffids this past week. I couldn't believe I'd never read it before. If you like science fiction, this one is a must.

Okay, your turn! What've you been reading and loving this week?

Friday Book Club

First, some wonderful news - Archangel's Kiss is in the top 15 of the NYT for the second week running. It's also hit the Publisher's Weekly Bestseller list. Woohoo! A big thank you to all of you! :-)

Now, bookclub time!

I read Lori Foster's Back In Black this week, and LOVED it! The hero is rough, tough, and all-around delicious. I didn't realize this was part of the SBC Fighter series (set in the world of mixed martial arts), but had absolutely no problems reading it as a stand-alone. I'm now looking forward to glomming the entire series. *rubs hands in glee*

Your turn! What've you been reading and loving this week?

Good News & Friday Book Club

Some exciting news - Angels' Blood is #1 on the Amazon Editor's Picks for Romance in 2009!! Go Elena and Raphael :-)

I was interviewed by the fabulous Jennifer Ashley and the interview is now live at The Chatelaines.

Oh, and I've threatened Jill Myles with revenge over here.

Today's Friday Book Club comes courtesy of a very sleepy Nalini. I stayed up wayyyyyyyyy past my bedtime reading Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase.

The book was literally put into my hands when I admitted I hadn't read it - by parties who shall remain nameless (you know who you are), and I was ordered to rectify my mistake at once. At once!

I still wasn't convinced as I'm not a huge historical reader. Then I read the first page and knew I was a goner.

This book was so good, I feel compelled to find people with whom to discuss it. Dain was a perfect Beast of a hero, and Jessica was completely awesome - smart, funny, determined, and with enough grit that you know she's never ever going to crumble against Dain's personality. For those of you who've read it, one of my favorite parts was the "emptying of the bag" scene.

The best part about coming late to the party? I now have lots and lots of Loretta Chase books to catch up on. You can read an excerpt and the back cover blurb of Lord of Scoundrels on Ms. Chase's website.

What are you reading and loving this week? Thoughts to share? (p.s. If you've read LOS, what's your favorite part?)

Angels' Blood TV Debut & Friday Book Club

First up - these wonderful people are hosting the Blaze of Memory book tour for me today. Come on over and say hi :-)

Now, news! There was much excitement over on these shores last night - Shortland Street is a great NZ drama that plays weeknights. Yesterday, Angels' Blood was used on the show as a prop!

But it wasn't simply sitting on a shelf or a table - the characters had a book club on the show, and guess what book they were discussing? It was completely awesome to see the book onscreen :-). (NZ folks can catch the episode online.)

Thank you, Shortland Street! I also have to give a shoutout to everyone behind NZ Book Month, especially Michele, for making this happen.

Now, onto our own book club. What've you been reading this week? I finished Nora Roberts' Black Hills and really enjoyed it (I can't wait to get my hands on Bed of Roses, the second book in her bridal quartet). I've also been reading a number of advanced copies of books to see if I'd like to blurb (recommend) them. Okay, your turn!

p.s. Also just saw this! Bwahahahaha!!

Priceless

Amount of work done in past 48 hours: Does work include bouncing up and down and giggling like maniac? (But a happy maniac).

Number of times looking at
printout of New York Times list to make sure I hadn't had a very long and vivid hallucination: 100/per hour

Number of exclamation marks used: So many that I think I've run out. <-- Look, no exclamation mark...wait I found a secret stash!

Number of times I've thought the reading / writing community is made up of a lot of fabulous, wonderful people - uncountable.

You guys are just the coolest - thank you to everyone who's celebrated with me! (That conga line is rockin'). You've made this just so extra special. :-)

Normal blog operations (or as normal as it gets!) will resume Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone!
