"About Your Father" by Peggy Rowe. Non-fiction, short stories by the mother of Mike Rowe, best known in the United States as the host of Dirty Jobs. What a wonderful read for a difficult time of year. Kind of like little bites of Christmas cookies but without the calories.

Not sure I'm reading much new. I did start "Extreme Ownership" by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, which resulted in me switching to working on this kids book I'm writing, and getting several hours worth of work done on it! (and an hour writing an email with thoughts about my life to friends). ...Which resulted in me not going to be until 4 am, and not falling asleep till around 5! Oops! But hey, I'd gotten a lot of work done, and I'd been wanting to do some work on at least one of the book ideas I've got going for a few weeks now, so... all good. (well, maybe not the waking up about 10:30 part, but... it all worked out. Even if it did take me about an hour to make a new brownie recipe, even with mom's help, due to my brain working at a snail's pace, and I had to go back to the recipe every few seconds 'cause I'd forgotten what I'd just read!)

Court of Midnight and Deception 3 book series by K.M. Shea A half human half fae who was raised as a human, is chosen by the night mares to be queen of the Night Court. Quirky main character and great secondary characters. The court is broke, the fae are losing magic and lands and no one knows how to fix things. Different, engaging and I cannot wait for book 3.
