I'm not saying I made a giant plate-sized cookie yesterday and ate it, but I'm not saying I didn't. 😉 What comfort foods have you eaten lately? And what are you craving?
I'm eating pastries and cookies from my grocery's bakery. Digging out old favorite recipes such as salmon salad and chicken-butternut squash tagine and cooking them. Tonight I'm cooking burgers for my family. Basically we are eating simple and tasty comfort foods. I'm not doing fancy dishes.
I'm not really craving anything. I cook most times during the week. When I do want something, it's usually cinnamon rolls from Panera. Panera is a take out place that sells bread, bagels, soup, sandwiches, pastries, and other food. Tonight I made a cheeseburger and tater tots.
Comfort food I have made and eaten in the last week: cheeseburger pizza, with homemade Big Mac sauce, seasoned ground beef, bacon, caramelized onions, and topped (after cooking) with diced dill pickle. I have a major craving today for molasses ginger cookies.
Today? Nothing yet, but then, I haven't been up long. I'm sure chocolate will factor into the equation at some point. Hopefully the organic dark kind, but during my last grocery trip I picked up a few regular Easter chocolate type things, so... we shall see. Probably end up being a bit of both.
Was craving potato chips, but satisfied that the other day with the same grocery trip mentioned above. Ate the last of the cookies I've baked recently, so will probably have to make something else soon. (of course, I keep saying that and it hasn't happened, though I now have all the ingredients I need)
Should probably make some of those protein bites that I've been saying I was going to make for a few weeks now... but given my track record, probably won't.
What have I made lately; spaghetti, lentil soup, mac-n-cheese, pizza, homemade bread, biscuits, chocolate chip bar cookies, not wafer cookies, meatloaf, Salisbury steak, wonton soup, baked oatmeal. The list goes on, we have been in stay-at-home mode for 3 weeks or so. I am fixing lots of comfort food type stuff and mixing it with veg, fruit, hot tea and the occasional cup of cocoa.
I am craving pizza from my favorite restaurant, but probably won't go out and get it since we are in the at risk group.
I would also love to read an excerpt of Alpha Night. I'm doing lots of re-reads and occasionally denting my TBR pile.
I just want US Southern cooked food. Friend chicken, baked beans, butterbeans and peas, cornbread, and whatever meat at the moment, grilled portchops, or meatloaf, don't care. Just real food instead of sandwiches and fast food. :(

A nice juicy hamburger from any hamburger shop

I've been craving strawberry cheesecake.
Settled for cheese and crackers.
I am, very seriously, desperately craving an excerpt of “Alpha Night.”
I am also dying to read an except of alpha night while eating Chocolate pudding hosed down with cool whip.

I'm missing home made bread, we haven't been able to buy bread flour for a couple of weeks now.

Keep safe everyone.
