Reading a bunch of In Death books this week, whilst lamenting the lack of new books from my fav authors *wink wink. Currently on Treachery In Death - the b*tch fights are awesome
I read the latest Dark Planet Mercenaries entry by Anna Carven, Shattered Silence. If you haven't read her work, she writes a delightful SF romance series (actually two series now) about scary alien warriors who are absolutely devoted to their human mates. These stories remind me of the Loveswept books I used to read years ago - nothing too complex, just a guy who will take care of you and support you. All you have to do is be willing to love him, despite his killer tendencies. They make me smile and take a little of the stress off my brain. Now, I'm reading Thanemonger by Bex Mclynn. So far, so good and I'm enjoying it. The heroine has a brain and the world building is good so far. I hope there are more stories in this series as this is a HFN, rather than HEA adventure. I really want to know how it turns out in the end. I think this might be the first novel published by the author, which is kind of shocking because it reads like it was written by someone experienced. I bought a kindle copy but it's also on unlimited, if you have it.
Read two sections of Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews. They were surprise reads on their website. Getting better and better. The last section...steamy kiss between the two main characters...yippee!
Pre-ordered Rebel Hard...can't wait to read it. Hmmm...hopefully soon we'll get to read Gabriel's and Charlie's wedding (huge hint).
While waiting for new books to come out (like Magic Triumphs in 18 days), I am currently re-re-re-re-reading Shogun by James Clavell. I felt like going back to medieval Japan this time.
I've been revisiting my youth by re-reading the Howl's Moving Castle series by Diana Wynne Jones. I just finished the second book Castles in the Air last night, and I'll probably start The House of Many Ways tonight.

Just started rereading Deborah Harkness's All Souls trilogy in preparation for A Discovery of Witches tv show coming up.
