My second novella rec for this weekend is a historical: Alissa Johnson's A Christmas Dance. It's a sweet, warm-hearted, and just
lovely story of two people falling in love.
The hero is former military and has a PLAN to get himself a wife. Then along comes the heroine and all his plans take a tumble.
If you're looking for a novella with two likeable characters and a romance that'll make you smile, check this one out.
You can read an excerpt by clicking on the cover on Amazon.

I read this in print way back when it was in A Christmas Ball anthology (under the title “Traditions”).
I also highly recommend her Providence series (I loved three out of the four books) and her Haverston Family trilogy.
I hope she continues writing. She is on my autobuy list, but her last new book was 2012. She and Amanda Quick are the only two historical authors I continue to read (I've been feeling very burned out of the genre the past several years).
Providence series
As Luck Would Have It
Tempting Fate
McAlistair’s Fortune
Destined to Last
Haverston Family trilogy
Nearly a Lady
An Unexpected Gentleman
Practically Wicked
Thanks for the recs. I'm definitely going to check out her other books. She's on Twitter - I'll ask her when her next release is.
I love AQ as well.
Have you ever read Anne Gracie? Her "The Perfect Rake" is among my favorites, but she's written many great historicals.
Since you like Alissa Johnson and AQ both, I think Anne might work for you.
Hi, Library Addict.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the Providence and Haverston Family series!
Nalini invited me to answer your question about future book releases.
I did take a bit of a break after Practically Wicked, but I'm happy to report that I have a new book coming out from Sourcebooks on November 1st - A Talent for Trickery. It's the first in my Victorian set "Thief Taker" series. I hope you'll give it try.
@Alissa Johnson
Yay! Glad to hear about the new book.
@Nalini
I have The Perfect Rake in my digital TBR pile. I will definitely bump it up the list. Thanks.
