His
kiss held his heart. It broke hers.
~ Slave to Sensation
I'm going to seriously start work on Aden's book soon, and I'm curious - how many of you have recently found the Psy-Changeling series (welcome to the pack! ;-)), and how many of you have been on this ride from the start?
Do you remember how you first discovered the series? Same questions if you're a Guild Hunter reader!

I discovered it at an Eastercon in London several years ago, when it was handsold to me by your UK editor! And I've devoured every book in the series since then. :)
Yup, been on this ride from the start, and loved every minute of it!
Found your Psy series at my public library
I discovered it after Hostage to Pleasure came out, and before Branded by Fire. It was before Angels' Blood came out too, so probably the winter of 2008. Wow, I did not realize it had been so long!
I pretty much picked up my first Psy-changling book ("Mine To Possess") at random in mid-2009. I had just gotten into Kresley Cole and J.R.Ward, and was looking for more great paranormal romance series to get into.
I picked up the first couple of books in the guild hunter series while waiting for one of J.R.Ward's books to come out :)
I started with Mine to Possess and since then I've waited patiently for your next book year after year. Your series are one of my top 10 favs.
I found this series a few years ago (just after Play of Passion came out) after a recommendation. From book 1 I was intrigued by Hawke so I managed to read up before KoS came out.
I totally loved the Psy-Changeling world from the first book and that was the main reason I kept following the series. I'll be honest, I did not (and still don't) like a few of the earlier books that much and only continued to read on because the world and all the other characters fascinated me.
The strongest points of the series are for me the world-consistency (some authors just make things too complicated and don't stick to their original idea) and because the way characters were developed (like Judd, Sienna, Hawke, Vasic, Kaleb). There was no hurry in it and because of that none of the characters disappointed me when their book finally (and after looooong waiting) came out. I have to say, that is really unique.
One other thing that jumps out is that characters are truly unique. I've read series where heroes/heroines once its "their" turn just follow some sort of fixed template. No matter what we learned about them in previous books, once its their book they turn into some sort of him/her model that basically can be used for any book. The story may still be good, but the characters don't stick with me.
My compliments for writing such a great series, I can't wait to read many more of your books. :)
It started for me with the Guild Hunter. I loved those, so I decided to try the Psy series. And I loved them too.
Felicia Day's Vaginal Fantasy book group featured the first Psy-Changeling a couple of years ago, and then I had to read them all. Then I got into the Guild Hunters series. I love them all. :)
I joined the ride about two weeks after Angel's Blood came out. That was the first of your books I bought - absolutely loved it so I went to see what else you might have written ... and was overjoyed when I found the psy/changeling series. I immediately bought Slave to sensation and within a couple of months had all the other that were out at the time (when it comes to good authors I really have no will power at all ^^). So glad I decided to give Angels Blood a try ;) Thanks for writing such fantastic books.
I started late , about the time Kiss of Snow came out that is all some friends I know were talking about, so I looked you up. I did not read KoS first, I actually read the first book first, to see if I liked your writing. Needless to day it was like a festival for a while there, a new book of yours every week (well new to me). Now I am all caught up and have to wait like everyone else for the next one to come out.
I started the psy/changling series after Bonds of Justice and the Guild Hunter series after Archangel's Kiss.
I can't completely remember how I found you, but I think it was a combination of Ilona and Jeaniene mentioning you and a review I read on Smexy books site that all happened about the same time.
The obsession started instantly and hasn't changed a bit :)
I stumbled across the cover to Angel's Blood on a blog just before it released, read the synopsis and got the book. Was hooked.
So I read up on the psy-changeling series while waiting for GH book 2 XD
Love both series but the GH series is definitely my favourite!
Discovered StS in 2007; by accident via amazon search. Since then I´m a huge fan (cough Hawke) of this series.
Of course I had to try AK, too. It´was intoxicating (though a bit to bloodthirsty) from the beginning.
I love both of your series and ask myself recently if your characters (psy/changeling) will age too, if we all get older and older.... (Sort of grandma/grandpa love story). LOL
"Must Love Hellhounds" is where I first ready any story by you. And that's all it took to get me hooked to ALL of your books! Then I let my sister borrow them too, now she's hooked as well.
I found the Psy/Changeling books through the Amazon ranking system.
I usually use the Amazon ranking system as reference to the books that I would borrow from the library, but for some reason the library didn't have any of Psy/Changeling books (it later did). The ratings for the books were quite high, and everything pointed to me liking the books. However, I have never read any of your books before, and I almost never buy books (Libraries Rock!).
I finally decide to take the leap of faith and buy all three books in your Psy/Changeling series. Boy was I glad I did. I vividly remember starting your series during my flight back home after Thanksgiving, and could not stop reading the books once I started. I was in the middle of reading Visions of Heat at Denver International Airport when they told us that we could board. I was kind of annoyed because DIDN'T THEY KNOW THAT I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FANTASTIC BOOK? STOP BOTHERING ME. (nevermind that the plane was to take me back home.....)
So yeah, I have to thank Amazon for helping me find your books.....
I found this series in 2008 after reading The Magical Christmas Cat, which I had picked up for the Lora Leigh short story. I was a little lost and a lot intrigued, and I fell in love and immediately picked up the rest of the books in the series. I've been following avidly ever since.
Hm...well I got hooked by a girl I went to school with. At this stage I had actually been quite sick of everything paranormal but after she kept mentioning it I decided to give it a try....and bought them all =D...don´t remember how long ago that was but the first book I had to wait for was Branded by Fire (one of my faves, by the way). Guild Hunter was around the same time as said friend first gave me Slave to Sensation and Angels´ Blood
I think a friend recommended the series to me when I was looking for paranormal romances. I think back then the first three or four books have been out when I started reading which was awesome because I could read them in a row. :) I was immediately in love with the series and it is and always will be my fav paranormal romance series!
Was my husband that introduced your work to me when I was utterly bored several years ago (yes, my husband is a romance fan...and reads WAAAY more than me). For me it started with Guild Hunters (think book four was about to come out) but I didn't get going on Psy-Changeling until last November when I finally gave in and bought the first two books when I again really needed something new to read. I think my husband was disappointed he didn't pick it up sooner because he loves them too. Really looking forward to Archangel's Shadow!
It was 2 years ago, up to date in June 2012, probably because Ilona Andrews and Jeaniene Frost talked about one of your book.
I ordered the first 10 books of the Psy-changelings series, read them all during summer holidays and ordered the Guild Hunters books as soon as I came back home.
Since then I've been eagerly waiting for each new book.
Thanks a lot for your books and the stories within.
Please do not stop writing them.
I discovered the series at the beginning when DA Jane was raving about Slave to Sensation. :D
Actually started with Dmitri's book when I read an excellent review online. It was weird because there were parts I didn't understand but reading it was also one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Since then I've read everything you have written but I admit I'm a huge fan of the Psy-Changeling series. Off the top of my head I can think of three reasons: Kaleb, Hawke and Lucas. Need I say more?
I first discovered "Guild Hunter", by recommendation from a friend, about two years ago. It took me several months to check out "Psy&Changelings", because initially I wasn't convinced about it. But now I'm fan of both series :)
I wasn't in the Psy-Changeling series from the start, but my Mum was and then around the time that Caressed by Ice came out she handed me Slave to Sensation and told me I had to read it, I loved it so much that I went out and got my own copy and I've been completely hooked on the series ever since.
A friend had picked up the first book and loaned it to me; I was hooked and bought my own copy and from then on, bought the books as they came out. Now I loan her my copies!!!
From the start. I remember liking cover and title
A friend of mine from Germany tried to get me to read the series just after the third book had been released, but for some reason I thought I wouldn't like it (silly, silly me!). But I had still discussed the series somewhat with my friend and I'd read Jane's posts at Dear Author over the years as well.
Flashforward to 2013 when all the hoopla about Heart of Obsidian was in full swing. I read the excerpt and decided I had to read the book. Because I was a little familiar with the series, and because it was like 3am and it was the only book my library had in digital, I read Kiss of Snow first. And I am normally so adamant about reading series books in order, eek! But it was still over a week until HOO was due to come out, so I splurged and bought all of the books in the series. In order to justify this cost to myself I read the entire series in eight days!
I reread the entire series again this year before Shield of Winter came out.
I'm a total PC'er - love every one of the books! I actually discovered the series through an insert in one of Kresley Cole's IAD books and thank God I did! You're a wonderful painter of words - thank you so very much for giving tours of your exciting and imaginative world!
I found your Psy-Changeling series in the public library when it was just beginning . But your name was already a known quantity to me - I had bought and read 'Craving Beauty' previously.
I don't remember how I found your books anymore. But I got hold of every one I could beg, borrow, or kidnap from my friends' personal libraries, and read them carefully in order.
What impressed me was that it wasn't just about the couple - they were part of a broader world, a complicated political situation, and choosing to act within that world as best they could in their situation.
I love romances that happen set in the middle of action; also ones where the characters either know each other and something changes, or they get a while to learn each other.
Finally - and this may seem like a small thing - but I liked that all the characters were very individual. I didn't feel like you were regurgitating the same characters over under different names, or that the same characters became completely different people without some kind of change happening. And the characters changed with time and life experience, too, which is something that we got to see organically.
...um. Basically I really like your books for a lot of reasons.
The series was recommended to me on amazon and I picked up STS at my local library. I was hooked and immediately brought the entire series to date. After BOM and before BOJ. I also brought AB and loved it. Now both series are my favourites.
RBS
start of last year found angels blood at a secondhand book shop and then got slave to sensation and devoured them strait away and loved it eversince
I got on from the Guild Hunter series novella then the books. I think it was Must Love Hell Houds. I had read some psy/changling series novellas but hadn't made the connection til I started reading the guild hunter series. After that I jumped on the band wagon with the entire psy-changling series.
I found out about Guild Hunter from a poster on a board about a Paranormal series a year ago. This poster kept telling me that I had to read it and I would love it. I'm the anti-romantic so I was like nahhhhh. Finally I broke down and bought the Guild Hunter series. I was like, yeah, I like it but I'm having a hard time with this romance stuff. I feel like I'm reading my best friend's mom's bodice rippers and I'm 13 again. LOL (Told you I'm the anti-romantic.)
As I was looking up the Guild Hunter books on Amazon, I saw the Psy-Changeling books and the concept of the Psy completely hooked me. I raced through Guild Hunter (which I grew to really like by the way) and went right to the Psy-Changeling books. I was addicted immediately to Sasha and Nikita. The concept of a race who silences all emotion because too many go insane meeting up with a race that is driven by emotion was great! I could not get enough of this world and I absolutely cannot say enough about how the blending of the three groups strengthens them. The similar concept in Guild Hunter where Elena's humanity strengthens Rafael is the reason I came to like that as well. I also like the blended races in both books. They truly are a global and holistic take on two very different themes.
I've since turned other readers on to them and will continue to do so.
i have been a fan since your Silhouette books. The stories, worlds, & characters you have created continue to be simply incredible.
I discovered the Psy-Changeling series in 2009. I went to FANcon and Christine Feehan gave a shout out to Ms. Singh. I've been addicted since Slave to Sensation, I knew back then that Sienna would be the one for my Hawk.
I found Psy-Changeling series when Slave to Sensation came out in my local book store. after that I was always on the look out for the next book in the series.
I discovered via Dear Author (remember their huge blogging experiment?), but it took me until two more books had come out to hop in. Then I read Caressed by Ice and it was all over, I'm in for the duration.
I was a part of a site called Bookmooch (nice site if you love books and have books to trade for new ones) and Visions of Heat came available randomly. Since i love big cats i snagged it without looking at the blurb on the back. I figured it had big cats, maybe humans-with-powers of some sort and a handsome guy in it so i decided to give it a try. I could not put it down once it came in the mail and right after that i saw it was part of a series!
I was hooked and then i saw you wrote other books with angels, i was sunk and had to get my hands on all your books no matter what.
I physically bought your books until my local bookstore shut down and got a kindle and then started buying the kindle versions of them.
I miss borders. I stopped there almost every Friday on the way home. I always checked out the or abc and sci-fi sections. As a borders' member I would have coupons so I was willing to try new authors. After slave to sensation, went looking for your earlier books. I've been along for the ride ever since. Thanks for the stories! :-)
I actually started with Branded by Fire back in 2010. I bought it from our local bookstore and since I was still waiting for the releases from my other favorite authors, i decided to explore and discover other authors. I enjoyed the book so much that I decided to read the previous books in the series.
Discovered them July 2008, from an Amazon recommendation for Slave to Sensation, based on something else I had purchased (can't remember what). I remember I looked at it several times before desperation for something new to read took over ( I was put off by the cover). Bought the next few books a couple of days later, and then I think I had to wait for Clay's book. Never looked back I love these books and the guildhunter ones
I discovered them when the German translation of Slave to Sensation came out, and hooked my mother as well. I switched to english after a while when I got tired of waiting for the translation, but my mother still reads them in German.
I discovered Psy-Changelings series much later through Goodreads...
Slave to Sensation kept popping up everywhere at one point, that I decided to read it. I read the first two books back to back. (It was after Kiss of Snow and just before Tangle of Need were released) I waited for a month. Then, I devoured book three to twelve within a few months:-)
I remember being interested in this series because of the intricacies of Psynet. It was/is an interesting concept to think of!
I discovered it with the very first one-Slave to Sensation, browsing the bookstore. The cover model caught my eye. Once I started reading it I was hooked for life☺
My sister gave me the first Guild Hunter Book at my last birth-day and I was hoocked
A couple of years ago
I was a member on JR WARD's Message Boards
there was YOUR THREAD discussing
both Psy-Ch & GH series.
It was a huge thread.
The latest book out then was
BRANDED BY FIRE♥ So I picked it up ♥
The rest is history! I've fallen in love the series.
I just reread BbF & yup ~ all the notes taken~
all about KALEB ♥
He's defo owned me since day one~ honest!
Even though I started the Psy-Ch series
out of reading order~ SLAVE TO SENSATION
is hands down the BEST opening book EVER!
of any series!
The GH is just the opposite.
I began from Book One~Angels' Blood.
Had I not fallen so hard for the Psy-Ch~
I'd have quit at P 100 :(
Couldn't explain till today
why Elena rubbed me the wrong way.
YET ~ however rough the start was,
the GH's become one of my TOP THREE SERIES!
It's SO MAGICAL!
Can't wait for OCTOBER 28TH!
I discovered you Psy/Changeling series about 2 - 2 1/2 years ago. I'm not really sure how, but it could have a been a "people who bought this book also bought..." on amazon.
I first found StS at my local bookstore shortly after it came out. I loved the world you created and have bought and read every book in both series since then.
I first started with the GH series because I have an obsession with Angel UF/PNR. It is now my favorite series!!
When I was waiting for Archangel's Blade to release I browsed your other books and found the Psy Changling series.
Saw Caressed by Ice at my local books store when it first came out. I was intrigued by Judd and Brenna. I have to start a series from the beginning so walked out that day with 3 of your books StS, VoH and Caresses by Ice. Have loved all the books since and Judd is still one of my favorite characters.
With psy/changeling from the start. Saw at store, hesitated, Feehan quote nudged me, never regretted! Thank you for many, many pleasurable hours.
I'm not with Psy-Changeling from the start actually. Went to start this series around 2011, even stopped reading after Mine to Possess! But I re-read the series again in the end of last year and somewhat, well, became possessed and now following the series faithfully. Never regretted that decision. Thank you, because Psy-Changeling (and Guild Hunter later) is the highlight of my 2014 year. You definitely are the alpha author of my most favorite series ever.
I think it was 2 years ago (before Jason's book published in Hungary) I was puzzled what I should read after Frost. And a really kind blogger girl, Gretty wrote a very good "recommendation" about your Guild Hunter series. She sad that you are the best, I belived her, and gave a chance...so I must agreed with her! :)
Alexandra
I discovered the psy changelling in the book store, I remember I saw Slave to sensation, Vissions of heat and Caressed by Ice and my first thought was I have to read these books, I just have to
I think it was going to be out Riaz story, when I started...
I discovered it around Drew/Indigo's story, read through in a few days. Then branched out to the Guild Hunter series which I might just love even more!
I remember finding Slave to Sensation when it was 2 weeks out at Borders. At the time I remember picking it up based on the fact that it was a Berkeley book (which were all I bought at the time). Hooked ever since!
Rah says.. Read Guild hunter series first, than at the back of the book saw Psy-Changeling series.
Also told a friend about Guild Hunter series, which she then told me about Psy-changeling and since then the rest is history!
I was on Christine Feehan's site in Nov. of 2013 and someone recommended your books. I looked you up and bought the first book, Slave to Sensation, and WOW!!! That was all it took. I was hooked! I devoured all the books in the next 2 months and then started the Guild Hunter series. I love it when someone recommends an author that I absolutely love! I have been introduced to many authors through your Friday Book Club posts!
A few years ago I was at Barnes and Noble looking for Kresley Cole's immortal after dark series when I came across slave to sensation. All it took was reading the first page and I was hooked! Been a huge fan ever since!
I received Slave to Sensation as a free nook book a couple of years ago. I didn't read it immediately, but when I did, I was hooked. I love being able to have the entire series available to me at any time, anywhere-on my phone, e-reader, or iPad. Looking forward to more great stories in the future.
Back in the days of yahoo groups, I followed Suzanne Brockmann, Christine Feehan, and Gennita Low. One of these yahoo groups recommended Slave to Sensation when it first came out and I have been a fan ever since. After, I read Slave to Sensation, I went -back on tracked down and bought all your old silhouette books through ebay. Been purchasing new ever since. The only thing the changed is that I now own a kindle. Had to re-buy all the book in kindle format. There is something really nice about having all your books in a single device.

Thanks for all these awesome comments! I'm loving hearing how you all found your way to the books. :)
Would love to hear a story for Nikita :) Please?

I actually discovered them because of your Silhouette books. I enjoyed those and wanted to see what else you wrote.
I discovered STS just after VoH was published, I was in Melbourne, Aust for work and wandered down Burke St to Rendezvous Romance Books to find something to read. I was so lucky the lady running the shop recommended STS, the next day I went back and picked up VoH and I was hooked. GH was a little slower to be grabbed because I am so enthralled by the Psy-Changelings, and the way everyone can be followed through the books. Now I feel the same way about GH books, only complaint having to wait for the next one in either series. Now my neighbour and her girls are eagerly waiting for the next book too.
I discovered psy/changeling in 2008, I had read four of your silhouette desire books and Craving Beauty had been my favorite for years so I decided to see what else you had written.
Since my local library didn't yet have any of the series I went to the bookstore and immediately bought the four that had been published, and I haven't looked back since.
I discovered the brilliance of your writing in 2005 during your Silhouette Desire phase. Awaken the Senses had just been released and I scoured for everything you had written previously. I have been on the journey with you ever since.
It has been an absolute pleasure experiencing your talent has it has matured and I intend to stay on the journey with you as long as you continue to write. I must say however that Desert Warrior is still one of my favourite books and I still reread it every now and then!!!
You keep writing and I'll keep reading. Thanks Nalini.
I was bored while visiting my sister one summer and she suggested that I go find a book to read at our bookstore. I ended up finding your wonderful psy/changeling series which was only four books at the time ended up getting all four plus every one since. Debated about guild hunter series until Dmitri's book decided to get the series from the beginning now hooked on both series. So glad I found your books thanks Nalini.
I've been along for the ride. :) I read one of your first books that came out through Silhoutte. I loved it and put you on my "watch list." Whenever a new book came out, I would read it.
I was in my bookstore, browsing for new book and found Vision of Heat. Hooked since then.
I started with your Guild Hunter Series - Which are so addictive and I cannot wait for Ash's story. but am looking forward to seeing some of the other seven's stories. I love the mystery and the continuation of characters. The world building in both series is fantastic and as I read I want to belong there too!!!
My favourite characters are Judd, Kaleb and Aden in the Psy and Bluebell Elena and Ash in the angels.
I love the way you are not rushing the series and can wait for next one.
Started with Slave to Sensation when it first came out. I will buy a new author on a whim if the story looks interesting to me. I did not hesitate when Angel's Blood came out! I love both series!!!!
I also discovered you when reading the Magical Christmas Cat anthology for the Lora Leigh story in a library book. I liked it and later looked for other books by you in the library. I didn't read them in order, because the library didn't have them all, but I eventually found all of them and then re-read them in order. You have the honor of being one of the two or three authors whose books I have deliberately bought the day they came out. I love the series and am looking forward to many more stories.
I work for a major book company in Canada. I found Slave to Sensation when working in the romance section. I have since recommended both series to many of my regular customers. Love all your books and am always impatiently waiting for the next one.
I just started/finished reading all the Guild Hunter books and I'm in love with the characters. All I could think of while reading Archangel's Blade was this song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9ayN39xmsI
This year for me:) The psy-changeling series that is. My all time favourite character being Judd then Hawke follows closely. Oh there's Vasic and Ivy, whom I enjoyed thoroughly. I will admit though, I find the Guild Hunter series daunting and so I haven't read any of the books...I'll get to it;). May say as well, Awaken to Pleasure (read it! loved it)
I picked up Slave to Sensation in the bookstore in the New Releases section when it first came out. I've anxiously awaited every release you've done since then.
I got into GH with Consort, but backtracked before I read it. The artwork is what grabbed me with Consort.
As for Psy/Changling, I think it was Branded by Fire that I started with, and stayed current between paper & as of Kiss of Snow eBook. I didn't get the first few books until Amazon was running a special on the entire series on Kindle, at a bit less than cover price when "Shield of Winter" came out.
So I now own all the books, and the anthology, and have been devouring the series from beginning to current.
The first book I read of the Psy/Changeling series was the tenth book Kiss of Snow because I mistook the #10 for #1..lol..When I read it I was so confused because there was a lot of characters I don't know and it was so hard following the story at first because I haven't read the previous books..But I really love it so I read all the other books and fell in loved with it..Kiss of Snow still remain as my most favorite book of the series and Sienna is still my favorite character.
Hi Nalini! You Hooked me with your writing with Charlotte's Story in the Ashton Dynasty Series. I keep all books I love and I have all of your. I have been with you from the beginning with the Changelings and the Archangels. I love the way you write your LOVE stories. Never stop please. Roberta
I just found your wonderful Psy-Changeling series (I think it was in a "Smart Bitches, Trashy Books" newsletter, but I'm not sure). I started with Slave to Sensation near the end of May, and just finished Shield of Winter yesterday. Whew!
I always read series in order (unless I don't realize a book I picked up is part of a series), and I'm certainly glad I did in this case. I'm loving the story arc of these books, and the glimpses of "old friends" and characters it's clear we'll see again in all of the books.
Very nice, and I'm glad to have found these books, albeit quite "late to the party."
Oh, I should also say that when I started reading about the P-C series, it rang a rather distant bell for me. I realized I had read "Whisper of Sin" in the Burning Up anthology. I remember thinking it was a really hot story, so I'm not sure why I didn't follow up on it then. I often find new series through anthologies.
I've been there right from the beginning with only slave to sensation being out. I remember getting STS in a small market which sells books/magazines etc and remember thinking that cover is hot definitely reading this tonight lol...And have been hooked since then and even went out to check all your other books which were not part of the psy/changeling series
I just purchased Angel's Blood randomly about a month ago while bored out of my mind on a long business trip. Cue obsession. I soon was onto the Psy Changling books, which prompted a mass kindle purchase--and haven't been able to drag myself away from my Kindle since.
I've pretty much devoured the Psy Changling books in the past three weeks and ignored my husband and teenager since I got back. I've also spread the fever to my close friends, although I almost came to blows with my best girl when she revealed she was already a fan, because how could she not tell me about these books?!?! In fact, why the heck didn't Kindle or reading lists point me to them years ago?!?!
Definitely looking forward to Aden's book, and if Nakita and Anthony aren't made for each other, I'll eat my boots. And possibly Amara and Vasic's Biotech doctor, Rain. I'm a sucker for the bad guys and gals, what can I say? Oh, the evil genius brain babies Rain and Amara could spawn!! It's like a match made in antihero heaven!
