I really enjoyed Hungry Heart, book 8 in Meg Benjamin's Konigsburg series.
Reread Kiss of Snow and am currently rereading Tangle of Need, so I am ahead in my complete Psy/Changeling series reread. Need to slow down so I don't finish too soon and have to think about the waiting for Shield of Winter. Or maybe I will just reread Heart of Obsidian twice ;)
I finished the Black Dagger Brotherhood series this week...and am now in the mood for some more dark vampire novels or something with demons in it. Can I get some suggestions? My husband (who's oddly a paranormal romance nut) has all his books boxed up after our recent move and he can't think of any off the top of his head to suggest to me.
(Oh, and also finished my ARC copy of Shield of Winter, too. My review will be posted by the end of the weekend on GoodReads...if I can finish writing the darn thing.)
I'm shamefully behind on Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters, so I'm re-reading Bad Moon Rising to get back into the swing of things. For Stephanie B, have you tried Larissa Ione's books? They are really good and deal with demons (and angels and all sorts of other stuff!)
I am also reading the BLack Dagger Brotherhood books as they were suggested to me after I reread both Nalini's series in the Christmas break. Pretty good so far
@Stephanie B: have you tried the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter?
Just started my reread of the psy-changeling series yesterday (I'm a really fast reader), already done with slave of sensation, and I finished Dark and Deadly by Jennifer Ashley, Felicity Heaton etc.
I have been listening to all the Psy-Changeling books on audio. Already read the books in paper format. I really like the voice of the narator. Am up to Tangle of Need. Can't wait for S.O.W.
I just finished Crave the Night by Lara Adrian. How I could do that, you ask? Because the German edition released several month before the English original. Why that is so? Gosh, I have no idea! But I definitely won't complain! ^^
@Jana: I live in Germany, too. And I was totally confused when I saw the book. I was like: what?! How is that possible?! But I won't read it in german, because I read all of her books in english and I will stick to it (at least I will try) :D Wie war's? Erwartungen erfüllt? :)
@Anon: Yeah, I was confused, too. If I'm not totally mistaken Lara changed (or will change) to self-publishing and maybe she arranged and/or okayed it. On the other hand the imprint states that the translation was published by arrangement with Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House. You see, I'm still confused (but I still won't complain :)).
So, my expectations...It's generally difficult for me to say if a book met my expectations or not, because when reading a book from a favourite author I already expect to like it. So for me to be genuinely disappointed in such a book there must have been gone something quite wrong. To answer your actual question, I really liked it. I think it's a bit different from the books in the first story arc and even different from the first book in the second one, simply because the new arc develops pretty differently from the previous one. It has another dynamic and overall another atmosphere. Not completely other of course, but noticeably. I think I can assert myself to have an relatively open mind towards sensible changes in a book series and can therefore enjoy them even if I can't yet quite foresee where they will lead, so I had no problem with that. But there are always readers who have a hard time going along with that kind of changes in a favourite series or don't do so at all (since it's considered to be quite perfect the way it is) and are therefore disappointed. It will be the same with Crave the Night. But I can only reinforce, I definitely liked it, it is a great book and I will keep reading and enjoying the series. Changes in a series aren't categorically bad, you just have to keep your mind open enough to allow them to happen or you will be automatically disappointed. Well, and I hope I didn't just manage to give the impression that you'll be hardly able to recognize the Midnight Breed series anymore, lol! So, to come to an end: enjoy reading! :-)

re-reading the psy-changeling stories, I want to be ready for Shield of Winter. I started last week...
Discovered Stacie Simpsons Myths and Legend series. Now I´m hooked and looking forward to book 4!
If you want to try her books:
Releasing the Dragon (book 1) is free for the kindle on Amzon.

Just discovered Lora Leigh's Breed series and I'm having a blast! It does remind me of the changelings though and I miss them.
Nothing this week but hopefully next... a very sad week for reading on my end!
Rereading Julie James's books, because her next FBI/U.S. Attorney book is coming out on Tuesday. So excited!
