I think this cover is absolutely stunning! And the cover model is Riaz, complete with those distinctive eyes of beaten gold! I hope you love!

Huge thanks to the Berkley Art Dept!

I love the cover and I have a quick question. I read in a review that there was an excerpt for tangle of need in the back of archangel's blade, but I had the kindle version of his book and it wasn't in there, so I'm assuming it must of just been in the print version. Could you please put this excerpt on your website or blog for us. PLEASE!!!

Love this cover, especially the pattern on the side. It stands out from the other psy/ changeling covers. But may is too far away! Can we please have an excerpt to keep us going?

I may be the voice of the dissent. I'm not crazy about the cover. Maybe because he looks like a relative?? LOL He looks kind of mad too.
That boarder has me thinking of the prints you see on old time authentic Mexican dresses. Oh well... I'll like what's inside the cover regardless. :)

I really like the man and love that your name is in gold with his skin tone and eyes. But confess I find the red flower scroll and white rose edging distracting next to his face. They are so bright they dominant the cover for me. I also feel stupid as I have no idea what it is supposed to represent!

hey i kinda agree with annon 6.51am.not too crazy abt the cover.the colours are great but ai yo the hero looks er... ordinary.. whimisica??.Sorry.. the archangels blade cover now that is a he man...sorry ..just a thot.. but i love love your books nalini..

Ohhh. Very different to previous covers - the border is definitely eye-catching :)

So...I've got till May to read Kiss of Snow (and thus be ready for Tangle of Need :) I know, I know, I'm behind - I'm psyching myself up for Sienna *grin*

While I love your books and will buy it no matter what... I don't like this cover - SORRY! The guy is ok, the gold eyes are a nice touch, and I like the basic layout giving your name emphasis, but that clip-art mash-up design down the side is distracting and even a little confusing. I know authors usually have no say in their covers, and I know that they often look better in person than in an image, so I'm glad you like it. And, of course, I will still be buying it!!

I think his face is too golden. It doesnt match the skin on his shoulder. Im getting a gilded genii vibe. And the scroll is distracting. I dont get the tie in with the book. Sorry! But will love the story regardless of cover. AJ

Don't like this cover either. Feels more like harlequin production series than a cover for a specific writer.

I can't wait to read it nalini. Riaz was a great charactor in play of passion you can't help but want him to have a HEA. Don't feel bad orannia I had to preorder the paperback version of kiss of snow because the hard copy was so expensive and I don't like hard copy any way. So it'll be a little while before I can get my hands on it(said as I bounce off the walls impatiently waiting for it).lol

Count me in with those who don't like this cover. The colors are vibrant, but they're just a little too much. I also don't like the red and white border. When I first saw this cover, I thought it was from the 80's. The cover model sort of looks dirty. Despite not liking this cover, I look forward to reading Riaz and Adria's story.

Can't wait for this book to come out, however I too fall in with those not in love with this cover. The guy is alright, but it just feels off.

I'm glad I am not the only one who doesn't like the cover. I don't like the look of the man or the weird looking pattern on the side it's just too much going on with all of that and those bright colors.

I like the cover. It`s fresh!

Though a bit powder would be good. His face shines almost to golden. Maybe the Berkley Art Dept can help him, hm ...?

oohh I can hardly wait to read it. My heart broke for Riaz in Play of Passion.

i read the excerpt for this book and all i can say is:
1. i was on book high (litteraly) after i read it. no really, couldnt stop laughing and jumping up and down and yellin "woho Riaz!".
2. THERE IS NO WAY in HELL I CAN WAIT FOR MAY!! THAT'S TORTURE NALINI!
PS: dont judge a book buy its covers ppl! :D

I suspect the patterns/style of the cover reflect story elements within TANGLE OF NEED?

Looking forward to this story, Nalini! :-)

okay, so I have to say this because I feel quite strongly about this cover... I don't know what happened, the Psy-Chan had such beautiful covers. KoS was stunning. I don't like anything about this one. The golden paint on his face is weird, the body position is awkward, I don't understand if that is his shoulder and why it has to be so prominent and why his skin is 2 different colors... Also, the side stuff is confusing and too much. It feels very crowded. It overpowers the beautiful title and Nalini's name... Maybe it's just a matter of country? Europeans might not like this.

Anyway, I'm SOOO looking forward to this book, and I plan to get it on Kindle, so the cover really won't matter for me.

I don't like this one. Mainly because it doesn't feel paranormal to me. Also, it feels messy like they have just tossed a bunch of stuff onto the cover. Well, I'll buy it anyway :),

I hope whoever signs off on book covers reads this blog, because I don't like the cover either. It looks like something a newbie self-pub writer would come up with. If I were unfamiliar with this series and just happened to come across this book I wouldn't even turn it over to read the blurb.

Anonymous said...

this is the PRETTIEST COVER in the series! so I love it :) it makes me imagine some thrilling moment, but of course someone would not like it,there as many tastes as people.

Anonymous said...

I love Nalini's books but really dont like this cover. It makes it look too cheap and theres too much going on... Not only that, I already have two different covers for the psy-changeling and guild hunter series, so I don't know why they need to create a different cover for it...

Anonymous said...

I love the cover model - he IS Riaz - just as I imagined him. The border comes across a bit flashy, but I'm so caught up in Riaz' eyes and face that it didn't distract me..... Can't wait 'til May!

Anonymous said...

I love this cover. I think it's one of the best: the man and the colours. I've not yet meet Riaz because I've slowed down my reading of your books but I'm sure he'll be a wonderful surprise.

Anonymous said...

btw the guy on the cover... i saw same guy with same golden skin and the same look on some other book. it was the same i swear! i knew he was familiar! oh well :) i kinda like him but dont like tha tacky stuff beside him.. to se only him.. it would be enough for us ladies haha

I tweeted this to you earlier but just in case it gets lost in all the @replies you get...

I think the image (actual model and actual same photo) is used in this other book cover: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003NX6ZLO -- it's just flipped around to face a different direction. :(

I love it! Also, I must say I'm just loving all your covers recently.ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE ARCHANGELS BLADE COVER AND STORY. It's my favorite this year!!

Anonymous said...

I don't much like the cover either. The guy is hot (don't get me wrong) but what is with the left edge? It looks like an arts and crafts project. It just looks wrong.

That being said, I will most likely preorder it for my Nook as soon as I can.

Riaz & Adria.. Couldn't continue the pretense :(

I know I'm going LOVE Tangle of Need like crazy!!

Love the cover!! Yeah!!

I've reread Play of Passion.
Now I'm so ready to see how everything will play out between Riaz of the GOLDEN EYES.. and Adria of the Killing Stares!! *well.. when she looks at Tai or the way she used to look at Andrew during his mating dance with Indigo.*

THNX, NALINI <3

BTW: Thnx so very much for the CHAT info this Thursday!!

I hope to be there.
As long as I don't need to sign up as a member of some website.

Help wasent Riaz the one who come home had found his
mate but she was with someone???

AlwaysV said...

Yes, you're right. If you have PLAY OF PASSION with you now, please check P. 135. Riaz's mate is married to a good man. She would've despised herself for cheating. It sounded like he met her while he was in Europe. Maybe?? So Riaz came home.

Hmm...Not loving this guy...-.-
I like the golden touch on the cover but the man is just not to my taste...
But ill love the book, especially after reading the excerpt...:)
Cant wait to have it....
