Just finished some amazing and very gritty YAs: -Rage by Jackie Morse Kessler (gotta love that Death and his "rock on"!) -Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (a fascinating take on werewolves and witches).
Have almost finished "The Replacement" by Brenna Yovanoff: the cover quote "...eerie and beautiful story of ugly things" about sums it up, too. 100 pages to go....
The book that anticipating is Archangel's Blade of course, followed by primal law by new author, J.D. Tyler which looks really interesting (shapeshifter, psychic abilities was all it took to gather my attention)which comes out Aug 2, 2011. And of course there's the three books by Christy Reece (Sweet Justice( out 9/6), Sweet Revenge(9/26) and Sweet Reward(12/27).
Just finished reading the new laurel k hamilton book HIT LIST. it was good, rereading it again as i went through it so quickly, cant wait for the next one
I've been reading First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones. Really great paranormal book.
As far as books I'm looking forward to: Ghost Story by Jim Butcher (July 26) Home Improvement: Undead Edition (August 2) Lots of great authors all in one book
and a bit further on the horizon: Angels of Darkness (Oct. 4) This has been on pre-order for over a month already (Ilona and Nalini in one book Squee!!!)
i just read 'Everlasting by Alyson Noel' and 'Passion by Lauren Kate' But sadly i have no new books to read not until they arrive in the mail sooo i will have to blow the dust off of some books i haven't read in a while. Hmmm what to pick... what to pick... 'stray by Rachel Vincent' or 'My love lies bleeding by Alyxandra Harvey' They're both my favs (aswell as your books Nalini) :D I shall go stand in front of my bookcase for the next hour or two while deciding. Have a great night guys.
I'm anticipating Jennifer Estep's YA book Touch of Frost.
I also can wait to read Robin D. Owen's Heart Search. Poor Laev was deceived into marrying someone that wasn't his heartmate, and at such a young age, too! I want to see him get his happy ending.
Also want, want, want in August Darynda Jones – Second Grave on the Left Eve Silver - Body of Sin Jeaniene Frost – One Grave at a Time
Just discovered Moira Rogers & have been on a reading marathon. Love the Southern Arcana! (Shifters & Psychics & Spellcasters, oh my!) Now I'm dying for Cypher. I also can't wait for Thea Harrison's Storms Heart, Jayne Anne Krentz's Canyons of Night, Jeaniene Frost's One Grave at a Time, & hmmm, I'm leaving some out--will have no money for food, but hey, who needs it ;)
I am flicking thru a few books at the moment but nothing is sparking any interest in me! Sad...because I have nothing to read!! I am on a 4 day weekend....what am I suppose to do now? Thinking of buying MtP by Nalini to take with me....have read that since forever!
I've read Grave Dance by Kalayna Price and Skin Dive by Ava Gray. At the moment, I'm waiting for the August releases, and eyeing Imperium by Nicolas Olivo
I'm rereading Archangels Consort again ^^ I've read the whole psy/changeling series and was wondering if mates were always male/female? If not are there any gay changlings or is that unheard of in that series?
The King's Own by Lorna Freeman was very good. No love story, but I liked it very much. The Immortal Highlander by Karen Marie Moning, as expected also very good. Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole, unbelievable good. My husband had to kind of force me to go to sleep because I could not stop reading.
Hm, I´m just re-reading Midnight Rising....one of thevery few books I haven´t read twice, yet...I´ve almost forgotten how good is it =D....apart from that I´m waiting for Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeless (yeah well,I admit that I sometimes....but ONLY SOMETIMES still like teenage books^^) and I´m also waiting for Archangel´s Blade and Angels of Darkness of course....
Just finished reading a series I downloaded on NOOK. It was free & surprisingly excellent. Very interesting take on werewolves. Written by Nicky Charles on smashwords. The Keeping, The Mating & The Finding are the three books. Long, but well-written & engaging. :)
I`m looking forward for The Many Sins of Lord Cameron by Jennifer Ashley.
By the way: Amazon.de celebrate the first 100 Kindle days with 100 english e-books for 1€. (You can log-in with your english account under amazon.de and download it on your Kindle).
I just read Shadowflame by Dianne Sylvan. I have been looking forward to this book for months but to be honest, I was disappointed. The writing is as fantastic as ever, but I was devastated by a plot event that really made me dislike David. I can see what Sylvan is going for and I agree that it made the story more realistic but it was really hard for me to lose the image of David as the perfect man/vampire. The book is definitely a good piece of writing but be forewarned, I was looking for relaxation and ended up feeling sad (and a little man-hating).
I'm looking forward to reading Jayne Castle's Canyons of Night (bk. 3 Arcane/Looking Glass trilogy 08/30/11); Christina Dodd's Secrets of Belle Terra (08/02/11); Stephanie Lauren's Viscount Breckinridge to the Rescue (Cynster Brides #1 08/30/11); and Linda Howard's Prey (09/06/11). Read a great YA novel this week, Jon Skovron's Misfit which features an ex-priest and his half demon daughter - in a Catholic school! Demonology, Hebrew myth/religion, big bad hell demons trying to kill the half-breed...great stuff and looks like the first book to a series. But the BEST thing I've read all year (in ARC form) was a certain book 4 in the GW series and it's initials are A's B...get out your tissues, readers, because it's a heartbreaker, and you've only got 38 more days before it hits on 09/06/11!
