Friday Book Club

Time to talk books!

I read an early copy of Maya Banks' In Bed With A Highlander (August 30th), and adored it! The hero is a gruff, tough Scottish laird, and the heroine a determined woman with a secret. Not only were they great characters, the wider cast was also wonderful.

It's one of my favorite reads for this year - I'm really looking forward to reading the next two books in the trilogy.

Here's a link to the excerpt on Maya's website.

What about you? What have you read and loved this week?

Currently reading Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas, and loving it! I've been on a historical romance streak lately.

ha ha ha - my work computer won't let me look at that excerpt because of 'adult content'. Will have to take a look when I get home.

I'm currently between books but have just finished reading the "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series by JD Ward. Love a group of sexy vampire 'brothers'.

Am finishing Karen Chase's newest release Hunt The Moon today. Will then move onto Kisri by Moira Rogers then A Ranger's Tale by Mysti Parker followed by The Magic of Lavender by Cate Master, Awakened Desires and Dangerous Desires both by K. Lynn Duvall. The week will probably finish up with Broken by David H. Burton. Hopefully by then KoS will be here from the library.

I'm late in falling in love with Christine Feehan's DARK SERIES. But I happened to have a couple of Fridays free. So..I plowed through the whole series!!! WOW!! I'm mesmerized by this series. No lies. The story that literally took my breath away is DARK SLAYER. An Unbelievable HEA couple. Ivory Malinov & Razvan Dragonseeker are OUT OF THIS WORLD Gorgeous. The scene near the ending of the story when Ivory reversed her ultimate enemy, the High mage Xavier's spell, to save the lives of the twin daughters of Gregori & Savannah ...!! There aren't enough words to describe how awesome that was. I was spellbound.. I could read that scene over & over ..for years to come.

I can't think of any heroines .. in any books .. who can compare to Ivory. NONE. Love reading about such a spectacular female character like Ivory. I've gotta go back to reread that scene again.

I won an are (advanced reader edition) for Maya Banks In Bed with a Highlander. Have got to find time to read it.

Just finished reading Kiss of Snow and in all honesty right now every other book seems as if it will pale in comparison! Lets face it, it was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

However once i manage to get over the initial disappointment that i've read everything in the Psy series, i will return to reading Sherrilyn Kenyon. Her Dark-Hunter series is not only wickedly funny but tantalizingly filled with just the right about of passion to keep you coming back for more.

I've been listening to a great few! I normally don't like audiobooks, but I do love my Psy/Changeling's, & I saw where they were being released in that format. When I realized that with the promo on Audible, I could at least try one for free, I did. It was incredible! Angela Dawe reads so very, very well that I got the other 2 & will get the rest (only StS, VoH, & CbI are out so far). Nalini, you're just awesome whatever the format!

Alas I have had to give up on Maya Banks - geographical restrictions prevent me from purchasing the eBooks.

Currently reading Heart of the Wolf by new-to-me author Terry Spear. After that I'll be reading Passions of a Wicked Earl by another new-to-me author Lorraine Heath.
