I'm a huge fan of the Valdemar books and I didn't know Changing the World released last December. It was such a pleasure to come across it!
The collection is edited by Mercedes Lackey and the first story is by her. The other stories are written by a number of different authors, but feature the Valdemar world.
If you haven't read this series, I think you'd be fine starting with either the Magic, Wings or Arrows trilogies.
Your turn - what've you been reading and loving?

The 2nd of the Collegium books is FINALLY out at Xmas.
I seem to be skimming book lately. Little is interesting me at this time.
Patience - Lisa Valdez. Been awhile since I have read a historical, and I really liked her first book. High expectations on this one.
Read Burned by PC and Kristin Cast - hated it.
Read Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris - loved it.
The Knight Family series, by Gaelen Foley. It's Amazing. I'm crazy for family series, just finished the 6th. One more to go... Everyone should read them. Satisfaction for shure.
I haven't, been reading that is; just don't seem to be able to get in the mood.
We'll see next week.
I am reading BURNED by PC + Kristin Cast and loving it. But maybe that's because PC is one of my fav authors, the story is very complex, with alot of mythology added in. And its not your everyday normal writing style. Different is a good thing sometimes. I also read Casual Hex by Vicki Lewis Thompson, that was a really fun read.
I love Mercedes Lackey's books. I think the Valdemar series is my favorite from her with Magic being my favorite trilogy. I am currently reading Payroll Compliance Practitioner school books. Exam is next week.
That stated I am waiting on a shipment of books to arrive. I waited to order some of them so I would have a large enough order to avoid shipping fees. I am waiting on JR Ward's Lover Mine, Charlaine Harris Dead in the Family, Patricia Briggs Silver Born, plus others... I can not wait for the final exam to be done so I can stop studying and read for fun. While I'm interested in the topic of my course it can be some very dry reading. Before this I never had a problem staying awake when reading.
oooooohhhhh....gonna have to go find this. Didn't know anything about it. Love the Valdemar books.
Reading Master of None by Sonya Bateman and Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas-loving both.
I've read From Dead to Worse (Charlaine Harris) instead of learning and it was really good, I think the serie gets better with every book.
Just started with Who's that Girl (Alexandra Potter), will see, if I like it.
I've been reading the Driver's License Handbook, since I just found my license expired *last* year, not this year like I thought! I take the test today (knocking on wood). Also read Freakonomics and Superfreakonomics this week, since I haven't been in a fiction mood for some reason. I have the 2nd two Servant books by L.L. Foster next on the pile, though.
I am reading Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep. So far really good....before that I Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells - liked it although it is not my favorite genre. Their One and Only by Trista Micaels I think was her name liked it some .... next is Wicked Lies by Shayla Black.
Yesterday I found a possibility to download Angels Pawn. Now I´m reading it. - ... And I like it a lot so far:-).
P.S.: If someone (who don`t live in the USA) want to know how to download it, here`s the workaround.
www.amazon.com / the top of the main page show the kindle, klick on the kindl picture with the left mouse key, then you get into a new page->scroll this page down until you find the headline "Read Kindle Books on your iPhone or PC" and klick on "kindle for PC". There is a free download. The only thing you need is a amazon account. After the download you can buy via kindle store.
Just finished Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill, the first book in her Chicagoland Vampires series. Very fun read, loved it!
In the middle of Doubleblind by Ann Aguirre, third in her Sirantha Jax series.
As a gift to myself for Mother's Day, I am going to read Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris. I am so excited. I love Sookie!
I'm reading Devil in Winter and really enjoying it! Its my first Lisa Kleypas book, and needless to say it definitely won't be my last!

Ang from Oz: I love PC Cast too :)
I finally got Lion's Heat and read it today. Since I had such high expectations for Jonas' books, I was almost afraid to dive into, but I am 99% satisfied with it. I just don't know whose book I want next! Dane's, or Ely's, or Cassie's, or Lawe! So many more!
Into the Dark and House of Night are next on my TBR list
Time to re-read Archangel's Kiss. Need to read a little slower to catch all I missed first time around
Hey you, I love your work. I am currently reading Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells and am finishing up in order to read the second book in the series. I can't wait for Bonds of Justice!!!
The 2nd of the Collegium books is FINALLY out at Xmas.
Oh, thank you farmwifetwo! I will have to keep an eye out for it at my library!
I'm currently reading Breath & Bone (Carol Berg) - the sequel to Flesh & Spirit. It's a character-driven fantasy and I'm absolutely loving it! I can feel a Carol Berg gloom coming *grin*
And I still adore the Last Herald Mage series!
At the beginning of the week I finished HARD MAGIC by Laura Anne Gilman-really good fantasy/paranormal. I just finished DEAD IN THE FAMILY by Charlaine Harris-much better than the previous one-sort of bittersweet.
Valedmar is a great series-I have read it several times-my favs are the Arrow and the Sword & Sorceror sets.
Is anyone else finding some of their favorite series getting too dark?
With Francescas book I finally read all Julia Quinn Books there are:-( Can´t wait for the 25th of may!! Meanwhile I bought "What happens in London" I read it before but got it from the library. Now I decided that I have to have it for myself!
Just starting Twighlight, which I have never read and do not have high expetations. After all, who can compare to our Nalini?
I picked up the book when it came out and I can't wait for the next one by Mercedes Lackey.
Nalini,
I thought I'd let you know I finished Angel's Blood on AUDIO and it was GREAT. Justine Eyre did a real nice job narrating. I loved the accents she gave Dmitri, the Cadre of Ten, and OH MY Illium.I hope you listen and are pleased too. I can't wait for Archangel's Kiss!!!Hopefully it will release early too!!NEXT Psy/Changeling? Fingers are crossed!
Can I just say how much I LOVED Vanyel? ok, had to get that out to folks who get it.
I just read a KMM Highlander book. The Adam Black one. I didn't realize that I'd read it before and loved it. So now I'm out to read all her books and I'm waiting on my Gena Showalter to come in.
