Hellhounds, Branded & More

If I could write odes to this little beauty, I would. If I could hang out under its balcony and sing it sweet songs, I would. If I could bake it a cake the size of Texas, draped in miles of frosting ribbons proclaiming Branded by Fire as the best Psy/Changling novel yet, I would. Then I’d eat it. The cake that is. Hmm, maybe the book, too.
From KMont at Lurv A La Mode's review of Branded By Fire! She loved Mercy and Riley's story so much, she's giving away a pre-order of the book. Go forth and enter :-)

Dear Author and SBTB are holding a giveaway, fundraiser and auction in memory of author Edith Layton. In honor of Ms. Layton's love of animals proceeds will go to support animal charities. One of the items up for auction is a bound galley of Must Love Hellhounds, which contains novellas by Charlaine Harris, Meljean Brook, Ilona Andrews & yours truly. Follow the links for more info.

There's a great profile of author Dean Koontz in USA Today.

The Knight Agency is having another Take Home Tuesday.

Jackie at Literary Escapism is hosting author Anna Katherine, giving away a copy of Salt and Silver and talking lies.

Deidre Knight and Gena Showalter are holding a Kiss & Seduce party here.

Bitten By Books is holding a "Who is your heroine?" poll.

And talking about polls, it seems like many of you think Kaleb isn't a bad guy. Interesting...

I really love that review...especially the part about the eating the cake (and book!)
Thanks for the info about Must Love Hellhounds! I'm going over to Dear Author right now...

you can't tease us with things like "interesting" and then not add more ... NNNNOOOO! Does that mean something "interesting" happens in branded by fire with kaleb ...

:winks:

Oh now, what does she mean by interesting about Kaleb?

Nalini, you're so mean! You can't drope comment like that, it's cruel... now I am overwhelmed with desire to read BbF! Oh, well, ok, I already was, but it's not a reason to tease us like this!
I entered the contest and hope to win: I'm broke at the moment so it would be perfect, but no matter what, I'll get it...

Hi Nalini, congrats on a really super review. I love your Psy/Changeling series it is an auto buy for me.

I also wanted to say that I finally got hold of Angel's Blood read it after the kids went to bed and had to finish it and am re-reading it as it was such a roller coaster. I got so caught up in it I was remonstrating with the Characters as if they were real. Raphael was something else. I hated him at the beginning and then at the end with Elena I was like, Oh my God this has to go right!!!!

Fantastic book so different and what an amazing idea. Love it, another series to add to the auto-buy list.
I know I am gushing LOL but just blew me away.

Interesting.....So now my brain is racing about Kaleb, though I haven't got so caught up in him as others, but now I am thinking maybe I should, as I am wondering what twists and turns are coming up.
Really it cannot get here soon enough. LOL

...I shouldn`t say this, but so far - don`t ask me why (I know it`s strange.) - I would favour Ming over Kaleb.
Hope that BbF `ll help me with this strange feeling...

What do you mean Nalini? Will BbF help me to arrange my feelings about this two?

Thank you for mentioning my contest for Salt and Silver!

I so can't wait for Branded by Fire and I didn't even notice the contest when I read Kmont's review the other day. She does have a way with words, doesn't she.

That review was fantastic Nalini! I don't know about many of you, but so many reviews really irk me. They contain indirect and occasionally direct spoilers that really ruin the book for me. It is a joy to see a great review so well done! Plus it made me even MORE anxious for Mercy and Riley's book (and I didn't think that was possible)!

The posts from Gena have been quite witty over the last two days!

Hmmm, are we responding in the manner you hoped we would to Kaleb or.... Now I need to reread AGAIN since I can't read BbF!

Is it July yet?

I love that we can't tell whether Kaleb is evil or not! Maintaining that kind of ambiguity must be challenging, and it's the kind of thing that keeps us coming back.

Hey, Bridget, were you at Anderson's in IL? I got their email last week, but no longer live in the area, so didn't pay careful attention to the date. Or, I suppose, it could well be a group tour, wandering all over together.

And I am totally dying for BbF! Can't wait.

Is he or isn't he a bad guy? I dunno. You've mixed the pot well on that one and it's hard to guess. It doesn't bode well for him that his mentor at a young age was a psychopathic crackpot.

I'm hoping he's a good guy, but you just never know. I guess we'll find out a some point in the future. *sigh* I hate to wait.

Is it absolutely out of question that Kaleb is the ghost? I like to think of him as the ghost!

KMont's review just upped by desire for BBF :)

Thank you for the heads up on the contest!

Ahhh Kaleb *SIGH*

I don't think my desire for BBF can grow any more. the release date simply can not get here fast enough.

As for Kaleb, I still stick with what I said in the discussion thread: Good or bad, I still want to read his book ^_^ I have been fascinated by Kaleb since the beginning. Please, please write his book, Nalini! I'll even stoop to chocolate bribes! (Will chocolate bribes also work for Sienna and Hawke? ^_^)
