I've got a great rec for you today - Julie James' Just the Sexiest Man Alive. Here's the blurb:
It's a smart, funny, romantic book - I enjoyed every moment of it. I picked it up and raced through it in one sitting, and I'm still smiling as I write this.COOL. CALM. COLLECTED.
Nothing fazes Taylor Donovan. In the courtroom she never lets the opposition see her sweat. In her personal life, she never lets any man rattle her–not even her cheating ex-fiancĂ©. So when she’s assigned to coach People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for his role in his next big legal thriller, she refuses to fall for the Hollywood heartthrob’s charms. Even if he is the Jason Andrews.
CONFIDENT. FAMOUS. IRRESISTIBLE.
Jason Andrews is used to having women fall at his feet. When Taylor Donovan gives him the cold shoulder, he’s thrown for a loop. She’s unlike any other woman he’s ever met: uninterested in the limelight, seemingly immune to his advances, and shockingly capable of saying no to him. She’s the perfect challenge. And the more she rejects him, the more he begins to realize that she may just be his perfect match. . .

Okay, your turn - what are your recommendations this week?

I've read this too! Very, very fun read...I loved their sparing, lol
I've been wanting to read this book for a while now, but I just never get the chance. I've read Julie James' other book, Practice Makes Perfect, which was a very fun read.
I just read Nancy Haddock's Last Vampire Standing and Alyssa Day's Atlantis Unleashed. I'm now happily rereading Atlantis Unleashed. I definitely recommend both books!
Just the Sexiest Man Alive was a great book. I've enjoyed both Julie James books a lot.
Well, I'd started Broken Wing by Judith James, but had to pause for a while. It's a pretty intense book, and I need some light stuff for a bit.
I'm enjoying The Legend of Werestag by Tessa Dare a lot. I like the characters and it's a short one, so that's cool.
LOVED KA Mitchell's Chasing Smoke. I hope there's more about the characters in the future.
Re-read While Passion Sleeps by Shirlee Busbee, as I love that book a lot.
LOVED, LOVED Ilona Andrew's Silent Blade... I really hope she revisits those characters.
Also re-read One Two Punch by Katie Allen. That was a great book (menage). I like her writing a lot and will be buying her back list. I've read her other book, Private Dicks which I enjoyed as well.
Oh and read Alyssa Day's Atlantis Unleashed. I really like the heroine in this book. Lots going on in the plot, but very well written. I can't wait until Atlantis Unmasked! Love this series.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I loved that one, too - have you read her Practice Makes Perfect? Another near-perfect read.
Mariana - I loved Silent Blade too, Celino and Meli were really sweet.
In the last week, I've been reading the Riley Jenson series by Keri
Arthur. An awesome read if you like vampires and werewolves (in a world where anything is possible - including a hybrid of vamps and wolves)
Just the Sexiest Man Alive sounds interesting - I'll try and read it soon!

I think I need to 'suggest' Julie James' books to the library Nalini :)
Well, I'd started Broken Wing by Judith James, but had to pause for a while. It's a pretty intense book, and I need some light stuff for a bit.
SNAP Mariana! I just finished Scandal and am just about to start Broken Wing :) Perhaps (apologies Nalini for the link) I could interest you in the Broken Wing Challenge? (http://orannia.blogspot.com/2009/05/broken-wing-challenge.html)
I reread Finders Keepers by Linnea Sinclair this week. Kind of comfort read. Then "discovered" Marjorie Liu's The Iron Hunt and consumed it in one night. Amazing world building. Already got the next book in the series preordered on the Kindle. Darkness Calls is out June 30.
This past week I read the first two books in the Children of the Sea series by Virginia Kantra and they were really good. Fascinating mythology, well thought plot, and engaging characters. The first book is Sea Witch and the second is Sea Fever. I'm currently waiting for book three, Sea Lord, from the library.
Also, I just started The Vampire's Bride by Gena Showalter. Her Atlantis series is good but this latest book in the series is so far blowing the others out of the water!
Hi! Mariana me TOO! Loved Silent Blade by Ilona Andrews... and I too hope they revisit this world. :)
Enjoyed Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins, a contemporary with lots of family and a very funny heroine. :)
Reading and enjoying Perdido Street Station by China Mieville and A Bride in the Bargain by Deeane Gist. :)
Thanks for reminding me I needed to download Silent Blade! I had it on my wishlist and forgot to buy it so I'm glad you all are recommending it.
Over Memorial Day weekend I read Jessica Andersen's Nightkeepers and Dawnkeepers. What a great series! Can't wait for the next one.
I'm also on the Alyssa Day Atlantis Unleashed bandwagon. It was great and I was happy to be back in that world. I'm jonesing for Alaric and Quinn's story, though!!!
Currently I'm halfway through Lara Adrian's Ashes of Midnight and am enjoying it, too.

This week, I've enjoyed...
- Elizabeth Rolls' His Lady Mistress
(one of the 17 free ebooks at eHarlequin celebrating 60 yrs http://www.eharlequin.com/store.html?cid=1317)
- Elizabeth Rolls' Lord Braybrook's Penniless Bride(same series as His Lady's Mistress but not the book directly after)
- Linda Lael Miller's Montana Creeds trilogy(Logan, Dylan and Tyler)
- Carla Kelly's Marrying the Captain
And I'm partway through Carla Kelly's The Surgeon's Lady which continues where Marrying the Captain leaves off.
I know its old school but I just found this series Jaz Parks. Once Bitten Twice Shy. I loved it so much I am buying the rest for my e-book and I am taking on vacation with me.
Hi all - the thread seems to have been spammed. Please ignore. Here's hoping they don't return.
Really fun read! Julie James' other book Practice Makes Perfectis good too, but this one much better!!
I've read alot this week. So far:
Predestined / R. Garland Gray
Dream Chaser / Sherrilyn Kenyon
Harmony's Way / Lora Leigh
Shadow Magic / Cheyenne McCray
Master of Surrender / Karin Tabke
Devil May Cry / Sherrilyn Kenyon
Lord of the Dark Sun / Stobie Piel
Through the Veil / Shiloh Walker
Dark Seduction / Brenda Joyce
In Twilight's Shadow / Patti O'Shea
Loved all the above but out of all of them the one that surprised me the most was Lord of the Dark Sun. Some reviewers were not very kind to Dark Sun, but I wanted to see for myself. I found it a very beautiful story of strength and personal growth, enduring love - a compelling sci-fi/fantasy romance.
I just read that book myself. Loved it! :)
I just finished reading the Witch series by Anya Bast. Hot, sexy Alphas & Magic! Whoot!
I'm in the midst of reading the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong.
I just got promoted at work and my new schedule starts Monday. Both excited and dreading it. Ack!
Mariana-Breaking the Silence by Katie Allen is one my top books of 2009. Intense and pretty much amazing!
Orannia - joining the Challenge, thanks!
Hilcia and Tina - Ilona is an auto buy for me, so glad for a new series. They have another series starting with 'On the Edge'; can't wait.
Bridget - I'm going to get all Katie Allen's books; just need to finagle the budget a bit more ;)
I was lucky enough to get this book to review and have become an uber fan girl of Julie James. It is a wonderfully written book (both from the male and female perspective) that had me cracking up then crying from one sentence to the next.
