Deep and meaningful poll

There should be a "Yes, I've done it, but don't recommend it." choice.

You mean you don't have chocolate cake for breakfast every day? *g*

Then again, I can have anything for breakfast. I once ate half a jakfruit with no dire effects.

Rosie, I sense a story behind that comment. Care to share? *g*

Kat - man, I haven't had ripe jackfruit for years. I wonder if they'll be in season when I'm in Fiji...hmmm

Why is it you can only have breakfast food at breakfast? Where did that rule come from?

I agree Natasha, where did that rule come from? Cake and coffee anytime of the day...is there anything better??

Hmmm, I'm guessing the rule derived from those who've tried it and only just lived to tell the tale :) I don't think I would (or could) eat cake for breakfast...my GIT is stressed out enough as it is. I'd rather save it for morning tea :)

Chocolate cake for breakfast is just like eating a frosted muffin. Good anytime of day! lol

It's funny how things change from culture to culture, too. When I worked in Japan, a lot of my students had rice & miso soup for breakfast. That's perfectly normal.

Me, I eat toast for lunch. It tastes really good then!

Well I confess to clicking the 'you are insane' button . . . Oops, I meant 'are you insane' ! LOl!

Couldn't possibly get chocolate cake down for brekkie - now a full English is a different matter!

I rarely keep chocolate cake around the house (because it's a temptation I *know* I can't resist. I'll keep going back for another slice until it's all gone), but whenever there's leftover birthday cake, I know what my breakfast will be for the next few days. *g* Don't deny yourselves, ladies!

Nalini, we used to have a tree in our front yard, but I haven't had fresh jackfruit in over 20 years.

And speaking of cultures, a great Filipino breakfast would be garlic fried rice, marinated beef strips and a fried egg ("tapsilog"). Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

If I go to the trouble of baking a chocolate(or root beer) cake, it's my prerogative to eat it at anytime of day.

mmm...chocolate cake,

Think of it this way, there is no better time of day to consume so many calories because you have all day to work it off.

Anonymous said...

Hell yeah. Bring on the cake! After all, there is the entire day ahead of you to work it off. If you think about it, it's probably healthier to eat it in the morning than at night.

Although chocolate ice cream is a good substitute.

I voted for chocolate cake. I've done it before, and would do it again. Tomorrow.

... I think I just made it clear we were never very traditional about breakfast. (Actually that's not necessarily true... but for some reason desserts were always fair game for breakfast. Yum.)

Rootbeer cake? Never heard of that one. Recipe pleaze?

Chocolate cake is best eaten at any time of the day!

Chocolate cake at breakfast? - Definitely a stress killer for busy days:)

But I prefer crispbred/whole-grain bread or much better bread baked in a wood-fired oven (Hmmm...) with cream cheese.
