Um...I learned that a dolphin named Moko saved two pygmy whales in NZ.
Also, two leopards that were supposedly too old to have babies had twins.
Alice, I am so going to look up the leopard story :)
I'm still puddy tat hunting (mine has gone walkabout) and I'm meeting my best friend for lunch tomorrow at Wagamamas.
I'm also (and I'm sorry to have to say this Nalini), going to start reading Tangled Webs :)
Hmmm, it has suddenly started pouring with rain. So much for spending part of the weekend in the garden...I'll just have to read :)
Have a lovely weekend all!
orannia
PS Just realised Patty replied to Bridget's question, so I'm off to check out the link she gave!
^^ Aww, that's so cute!
As for me, i'm ecstatic I managed to get my hands on two books I read when I was 13/14 and wanted to read again. "Wicked" by Jill Barnett and "Prisoner of my Desire" by Johanna Lindsey. It was a nightmare getting decent copies for a good price, but now that I have them, my weekend will be filled with reading and nostalgia. :D
Couldn't start Tangled Webs. *sigh* Mom off to Scotland in a couple of days and has requested (demanded) a scarf to match her new jacket so it is knitting, knitting and more knitting until I get the darn thing finished.
Picked up Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series (all seven of them!) at the library book sale last weekend. Can't wait to re-read this old favs.
Went a saw Juno last weekend. It was really funny, great soundtrack. I highly recommend both.
Orannia - I will continue to keep happy thoughts about puddy tat for you.
Hi Nalini :)
Not much going on. I've got a St. Patrick's Day party today. Other than that, just writing and editing for the online law review I'm a part of.
Oh, and I adopted a manatee named Flash through the Save the Manatee Club :)
Kat
My news is..I get to meet you at RAW in September!! I am so excited..I went last year and it was a total blast!!
Hugs, Crystal
The mayor of Rabbit Hash, KY has been banned from the General Store. He's a dog named Junior.
LOL
LOL I live in KY but have no idea where Rabbit Hash is :)
Orannia- I made a booboo on the info. It was the male that was too old and the female too young. People thought they would be able to breed. Guess they showed them, hahaha. Here's the link if you're interested ^_^ http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/southern_counties/4794293.stm
PS. I went to the link too. There were some good debates going on.
Daphne- Wooo, Jill Barnet. I haven't read her stuff in some time. Now I'm feeling nostalgic.
Aymless- Show us pictures of the scarf!!! I love scarves. Everyone's been raving about Juno. Think I need to put it on my to watch list.
Kat-Manatee website please? I know, I know, I should search it up. I'm just lame like that.
Crystal- Oh my gosh! You're so lucky! I wanna go so bad, but I guess I'll wait for next years. Remember to upload pictures! ^_^
Byrd-No idea where Rabbit Hash is.
One day, I'm going to travel around to all these awesomely named places just to see. One day, I tell ya, one day.
OOPS! Congratulations PC and Kristen Cast! I'm really looking forward to reading Marked!
Oh Alice, thank you for the link!
Good luck Amyless with the scarf - I've only ever knitted four in my life and I'm rather slow! And thank you for your best wishes. It's been 1 1/2 weeks now - even the vet doesn't think I will find him.
orannia *who STILL hasn't started Tangled Webs yet as I'm slowly finishing off an In Death book*
Thanks Alice and Orannia. I would take picture of scarf to show, but alas no camera! It's dark blue with pockets and accented with green fuzzy yarn.
Aymless is excellent scarf maker, but it really cuts into the reading time. Reading and knitting just doesn't seem to work well. Whole family is now very insulated. Now having to make scarves to match outfits for mom. *sigh*
I got a new tattoo (picture is on Lora Leigh's board) and I blogged about my sister's pregnancy. She got a great sonogram pic that I have on the blog right now.
My new toy, a digital camera, is getting lots of use. As soon as I get around to it, I'll post some pics of my finished knit and crochet projects on my blog.
Hope all is well with you, Nalini and everyone else!
I loved RAW last year!! I have pics posted on my myspace page if you care to look : www.myspace.com/crystaljo722
I got nuthin' but I wanna say hi anyway.
Hi!
Alice - that Moko story is so cute isn't it? I was smiling so wide when I read that!
Orannia - hugs on your cat. Hope she finds her way back home. And I've read Tangled Webs!! It was fabulous :) Must do a post on it soon.
Daphne - I have a list of books like that - it's so hard to track them down! Hope you had a good weekend reading.
Aymless - I'm in awe of your knitting skills!
Kat - hope the party was good. And that's wicked about the manatee! Does it have a name?
Crystal - RAW is going to be so awesome! I can't wait to meet everyone.
Byrd - seriously? LOL!
Courtney - your tattoo is beautiful. It must've hurt, no?
Azteclady - hi back :)
