Guess what arrived on my doorstep the other day? Author copies of An Enchanted Season!! They look fabulous. I can't wait to hear what you all think of Nate and Tamsyn's story.
I've decided to give away a couple of copies on the blog. Just throw your name in the hat in the comments - oooh, I know, since it's a Christmas themed anthology, why don't you tell me what your favorite Christmas song is. I'll pick the winners tomorrow.
Also, I'm the guest author on Ali Flores' blog all this week. She's running a scavenger hunt and you can win some cool prizes as well as have fun. Hope you'll check it out!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.
Love the end of Die Hard. :)
And one that always makes me cry.
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
Mine is White Christmas.. though I hardly ever get to have one.
The Christmas Guest by Reba MacIntyre. It is so beautiful and heart wrenching.
My favourite Christmas song has always been Celine Dion's version of O Holy Night.
I also love Winter Wonderland - ironic given that Christmas in New Zealand is in the middle of summer.
I have always loved White Christmas and Silent Night.
My favourite has to be Snoopy's Christmas (which is a rather obscure song that is only famous in NZ - like L&P [a drink with the tag line 'World Famous in NZ']). For those not in the know, the song is about Snoopy, who in this incarnation is an aviator flying against The Red Baron in WWI.
It doesn't feel like Christmas unless I've heard it (and seen the pohutukawas flowering [they are a native NZ tree] :)
orannia *who apologies for the very wordy post*
My favorite Christmas songs are Silent Night and White Christmas.
Terri W.
I'm going traditional with Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
I like Jingle Bells and Silent Night.
Hi Nalini! Great!! Been so waiting for this one to come out! I'm deaf, but I've loved to learn the lyrics of the Christmas songs and too, I used to sign them in nursing homes, etc, during college time. My favorites were:
Silent Night
Silver Bells
Oh I forgot, with the kids, we loved to sign "Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer. It was fun and very visual that you don't even have to know signs to understand. It was fun!
Jingle Bell Rock
Silent Night for me. Love it when the church is all candle lit and we sing together.
I love Christmas!
Probably Jingle Bells and the upbeat Christmas songs.
I love "Where Are You, Christmas?" from the Grinch movie. I love love "Somewhere In My Memory" from the second Home Alone movie (Bette Midler sings it). The lyrics are beautiful. I have a hard time picking a favorite because I love Christmas music and sometimes listen to my cd's in the summer.
Favorite Christmas song? Well, it's a toss up between 'Silent Night' and 'Mary's Boy Child.' Both reflect among other things, hope and peace set in lovely melodies. BTW, I was on another message board (you are your own topic, Nalini!) and someone in Australia has already read the anthology. She had nothing but rave reviews for N & T ;commented on she really needed that feel- good story and she got it with Enchanted Season.
I'm Jewish so I'm not that familiar with Christmas songs but I always liked Jingle Bells. I got curious about the lyrics just now since I didn't remember that many of them and found a nice text of the song here: http://musicanet.org/robokopp/usa/jinglebe.htm I really don't remember all those verses and it dates back to 1857. Well, well. What you can learn on the Internet! I guess what I remembered was just the first verse and chorus. Another one I liked was Silent Night.
Yours,
Jenny
I love O Holy Night. It's a funsong to hit high notes.
Little Drummer Boy, followed by Hark The Herald Angels sing.
Such a pretty cover - can't wait to read this one.
mine is the christmas alphabet owing to a memorable performance in year 4.
also i like the fake christmas song (santa's sleigh?) in the movie about a boy with hugh grant.
My favorite Christmas carols are "Silent Night" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing".
Oh Holy Night is my favorite, although I like a lot of them. I love Christmas music!
Silver Bells :-D
"Run Away with Me" by Jens Lekman. I think the first verse goes along the lines of:
What are you gonna do on Christmas Eve?
Please don't spend it with your family
I know you love your mommy
But she's more like a mummy
She's so empty...
I've probably got the lyrics wrong, but it's a lovely song :-)
Have a lovely day! :-)
O Holy Night - N'sync's version.. the very best!
and just for fun, Bryan Adam's Run, Run, Rudolph...
:)
Silent Night, Hark the Herald Angels
"Do You Hear What I Hear?" And, of course, I have to mention "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth". :-D
Thanks for the generous offer, Nalini.
I have always loved "Jingle Bells". It is my #1 fav. You can find me humming that one even if it is not Christmas. "Winter Wonderland" and "Silent Night" are others I love to hear.
"Last Christmas" by Wham! is my least favorite. I don't know but I can't stand listening to it.
Silver Bells :)
My favourite has to be Jingle Bells. And Rudolph. Who can resist the shiny nose?
Little Alter Boy by Andy Williams, I cry every time.
And anything by Johnny Mathis. Obviously I love the oldies, that is what my parents played when I was little and that says Christmas to me.
My favorite Christmas song is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Why? Because everytime my kids sing it, they sing it at the top of their lungs. It always brings a smile to my face. :)
I looooove that cover!!
Hmm...I don't know. I like any Chipmunks christmas song is my fav :D
Hi Nalini,
Love the books!
My favorites are Little Drummer Boy and Oh Holy Night by Mahalia Jackson.
Hi,
My favorite christmas song is in Spanish "Feliz Navidad"
I can't wait until this book hit the stores. I always liked Nate and Tammy. They are such a Hot couple.
Nalini,
Which date is the book is oficially out?
Hi
Can't wait for Enchanted Season!
Don't remember the name but it goes something like this: Its cold outside.... or Baby its cold outside. For those of us in the USA it was OLD NAVYs theme song last year (which I thought was funny)
Do You Hear What I Hear has always been a favorite of mine.
My favorite is Holly Jolly Christmas sung by Burl Ives
My favorite is The Christhas Song by Nat King Cole.
I meant the Christmas Song. Sorry about that. Baby fell asleep on me so I am typing this one handed.
