So, I've been gone a month - catch me up with what's been happening in your corner of the world! As for me, I'm currently having issues with the power cable of my laptop so if I'm late responding to emails/comments, it's because I have no power!
Also, a quick link - the Romance Writers of Australia conference is this weekend, and several folks I know are up for the R*BY, the Romantic Book of the Year award. Two of those ladies - Karina Bliss and Helen Kirkman - have been left holding the fort while the others go off to the conference, so they're having a bit of a cyber-party over at eharlequin. Follow this link to go join them!
Edited to Add: Courtesy of Random.org the winner of You Had Me At Halo from Amanda Ashby is Alyssa, who made the second to last comment on yesterday's post. Congrats! Please email your addie to amanda @ amandaashby.com (without the spaces), and she'll get the book out to you.

Hey, Nalini! All that's happening in Alabama is a serious heatwave meltdown. Whew, today was supposed to be 101F, but I didn't go outside to find out. This is just about the time I could wish I was back in Hawaii, enjoying ocean breezes. :)
Other than that, just working on my writing, still feeling inspired from Dallas, and hoping a cool front comes through. :)
Um...let me think about this... :)
Well, I'm going to be an aunt again. My brother & SIL are expecting! My nephew will be around 2 when the 2nd one is born, which is exactly what they wanted.
I'm working on my book. Very excited because it's coming along quite well.
Other than that? Not a whole lot! :)
I got through my first Summer Reading program as a Children's Librarian and am currently celebrating the start of the school year. Also, I am in desperate need of a vacation...
I'm currently wondering why I signed up for 2 workshops at the same time and am days away from a 3rd starting *gulp* Plus desperately trying to finish off the first draft of my YA so I can start cutting the scenes I know I don't need

Hey Nalini!
My weekly catch up...
I moved to my new apt. this week since school is starting soon, but it was way too hot to move. It was like 105F outside. Yikes!
I got my first laptop the other day, so yeah!
And finally, I finished reading Caressed By Ice last night! Fabulous story! Definitely didn't disappoint. I'll post a review on it later on in the month, and tell you when/where I did.
This week I've suffered major withdrawal symptoms as I had to send my laptop away for repair - fortunately I got it back yesterday and the repair was covered by warranty!
About to start reading the debut novel by New Zealand author Dawn Rotarangi - Ripples on the Lake.
After seeing my Palm, my mother decided that she had to have one too, so I've spent a fair bit of time getting hers set up. Next weeks major task will be showing her how to use it. Should be fun!
I gotta say Lynn and Danette - that kind of heat, I don't miss! Hope you get a breeze this weekend.
Kaitlin - congratulations :) I'm an aunt many times over so I know how exciting it feels.
Katie g, hey, nice to see you back! Glad you survived the summer. Was it fun?
Lis - wow, lots of work. Good luck!
Abby - so glad you enjoyed CBI, can't wait to see your review! And congrats on the laptop. I adore mine.
Shellbell - I hadn't heard of Dawn before. I'll have to check her out. And talking about gadgets, I played with an iphone will in the US and OMG, I have techno-envy.
