HEART DANCE by Robin D. Owens

Berkley Trade, July 3, 2007

DuFleur Thyme is a scientist who's secretly experimenting with time. She'll allow no distractions from her work-not even from a HeartMate. Meanwhile, Saille T'Willow has sent his HeartGift out into the world in hopes of finding his HeartMate, who, it turns out, is DuFleur. Still, DuFleur wants nothing to do with Saille, especially when she discovers that it was his grandmother who brought about her father's ruin. Unfortunately, her body can't help but submit to the passion he stirs in her. But when a scandal threatens Saille's position as head of the family, will DuFleur stand by his side?

Hey, has anybody read Robin Owens' Summoning series? I just read the first one a couple of months ago and immediately ordered the others.

She's still working on the series, but here's what's out so far: Guardian of Honor; Sorceress of Faith; and Protector of the Flight. Keepers of the Flame is scheduled to come out in January.

They're big books, but very interesting.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to the Fourth of July ... it's Wednesday for those non-U.S. book lovers. I'll be working the Fourth, but I'm taking Tuesday off, so my butt's going to be reading or some other fun activity. Does New Zealand have a day like the Fourth of July in the U.S.? What about Australia or other countries?

I have never heard of Robin D Owens, but after reading Nalini's post and jennifer k's comment, am certainly intrigued by her books.

jennifer k. - New Zealand's national day is Waitangi Day on February 6th. Waitangi Day is supposed to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840, but unfortunately it is usually the focus of protests about treaty injustices. I think the closest in Australia would be Australia Day, celebrating the landing of the First Fleet in Sydney Cove on January 26th 1788.

Hey Nalini. Interesting.

Oh and you have been tagged. See details at my blog. :)

I had never heard of Robin Owens either, but I'll have to check her out...in August.

I gave my notice at work last week and my last day will be the 5th. My class starts on the 9th and I will be knee deep in books such as Multicultural education in a pluralistic society and Teaching with a multicultural perspective. Woo-hoo!

Unfortunately, that means that my pleasure reading will be curtailed, at least for the month of July. How I'm going to resist the new Harry Potter book until after July 26th, I haven't quite figured out yet.

Have a great weekend!

For me it has been another busy week. Blogged alot this week, wrote some (mainly proposals seeking more work...) and did lots of outdoor stuff. Best of all I was the reader interview featured here and I posted my bit about Leslie Kelly on my blogged and was mentioned on Alison Kent's blog (I got the books from her - after agreeing to read and post to my blog...) I too am getting geared up for the 4th. Always a great time here in the US!

Hmmm - last year a very good online friend of mine asked me if we celebrated the 4th of July in the UK.

:)

Strangely enough we don't. LOL

Lesley W., *snicker, snort* I can't imagine why the U.K. wouldn't celebrate getting rid of the upstart colonists.

Hey, does anybody in the U.K. still call us "the colonies," or whatever?

LesleyW said...

Jennifer - some older people might, but not in general conversation. :)

Work. Man, my life is so depressing. I've also come across a great new show & since I DVR'd all of the episodes (so far) I watched them yesterday & Weds. It's great! It's called Traveller & it's full of twists & turns. It's like a male version of Alias, but without the male heroes being spies. Confusing yes, but totally awesome! :)

LOL! Too funny, Lesley!

Kaitlin - have you ever seen Dark Angel (series) with Jessica Alba? It was on years ago and only for 2 seasons but I LOVED that show. I even have both seasons on DVD - and I don't even like TV so that tells you something! lol. You should check it out!

I've read the Summoning series, Jennifer. I like it but not enough to buy the books so I check them out from the library when they become available. *sigh* They don't have either of the upcoming Owens books on order right now so it will be a while before I get to read them.

Bookqueen - do I know you from the JFBB? That name sounds familiar.

My oldest daughter is turning 9 tomorrow *wailing* where did the time go?? So we've got a birthday tomorrow, then her party Sunday. Then my youngest (I have 3) daughter's birthday is Tuesday and her party is the following Sunday. I'm SO BUSY! And I really shouldn't be on now. I'm supposed to be wrapping presents. eeek!

I've read all of the "Heart" series by Robin D. Owens. They are wonderful! She's created a detailed world and her characters are each unique with very definite personalities and quirks. I have been eagerly waiting for this one to come out. :)

I have read Robin Owens for years. I will admit that some of her books are better than others, but Heart Dance is a good one.
I really enjoy her Summoning series the best of all.

It is hard to find her books in Used bookstores so I don't know where they have gone.
