From the comments on yesterday's books, it looks like everyone's reading some great books. Since I've been on deadline, I haven't been picking up any new books, but I have been dipping into some comfort reads. I can't just not read! (Gasp!)
At the moment, I'm making my way (back) through Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series. I just love that feeling of picking up a book and knowing I'm going to meet old friends. Plus, sometimes, it's nice having a guarantee that the book will be good.
What are some of your comfort reads? Any of you not reread?

I'll go back and reread my favorite passages from whichever book that strikes my mood. Some of my favorites are JD Robb's In Death & Julie Garwood's historical books.
I immediately thought of JD Robb as well Kathy. Also old Jayne Ann Krentz's books and Christine Feehan's. Of course if it is a series, I have to start with the first book and read through. Very comforting.
Judith McNaught's older stuff. I re-read them ALL the time. Especially Almost Heaven. Linda Howard's older works are a comfort read as well- After the Night never gets old.
I don't reread whole novels,I'll go back and read my favorite parts.*g* I can't keep my TBR pile down,my room keeps filling up with new book and my computer too.
Hugs, Danette
I have my favorites just in front of my bookshelf too and I go back and re-read my favorites scenes every once in a while. There are just days that I don't feel like reading a new book is like Nalini says I just go back and visit old friends.
Some of them are "Craving Beauty"... by who.... I wonder, Lover Awakened by J.R Ward,"His majesty MD" by Leanne Banks, "Indecent suggestion" by Elizabeth bevarly. This book is Funny and HOT.It is one of the best friends turn to lovers story that I ever read
and
"Better than chocolate" by Jennifer Labrecque another with a very special place on my shelf since it was this book the one that gave me the motivation to start reading novels in English
Comfort reads - Linda Howards earlier books, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Judith McNaught's earlier stuff. Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan series.
And I definitely re-read. I read a lot of series and recently I've found I've had to re-read preceding books so I can remember what happened in which series. Favourite re-reads - any Wen Spencer, Lynn Viehl, J.R.Ward, Lindsey Davis. These are usually books that have complicated or multi plots. One of the freshest re-reads is Kelley Armstrong's Bitten, it doesn't matter how many times I've read the airport car park scene it still has me on tenterhooks.
And I've re-read StS and VoH. :)
I reread all the time. I love Anne McAffrey's Dragonriders series. Have you ever read Mercedes Lackeys Heralds of Valdemar series? You want to talk about an awesome epic series. :)
My comfort reads are Mercedes, Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard series, your books, and a few others. Doesn't take much to comfort me. It's nice to visit old friends. :D
I don't reread except when a series takes a long time between books. I have so many in my tbr pile that are new. I keep all my books and they got mixed up when moving shelves so sometimes I do reread inadvertently but I actually can't even remember I read them.
I re-read all the time probably Nora Roberts/ Tami Hoag are my main comfort reads
JD Robb & JAK! Yep, me, too. And Kaitlin - I love, love, love the Valdemar series!!
Lesley & Barbara :) :)
I love the Dragonriders books!! Lackey's Valdemar series is one of my comfort reads. As well as some Lori Wick, Linda Howard and Elizabeth Lowell.
I love to re-read...of course I go to my favorite parts/lines.
I always reread Nora Roberts and to be perfectly honest, Nalini Singh. I just re-read "Secrets in the Marriage Bed" and "Bound by Marriage".
Hot...
I never reread - at least not intentionally . I have been known to buy a book more than once, especially if the cover has been changed, and then get half way through and realise that maybe I've read it before. Once I've finished a book I also have trouble remembering it.
Unlike movies, when I watch them over and over again until I know every line of dialogue!
I love re-reading - especially The Pern books!! Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover novels are definitely worth a second read and when I doubt I always fall back to Georgette Heyer.
