We haven't talked about tv for a while, have we? The new season has just started in NZ - we're one season behind the U.S. I'm already hooked on Heroes, CSI NY (go Gary Sinise!) and House (of course). Jericho looks good but only one episode has aired so far. I have Supernatural taped but haven't seen any of it. Should I watch it?
So, what's on the box over at your place?

Well I'm in the UK so we're also behind the US.
Just watched the first episode of The Dresden Files - which I liked. Even though they have changed some of the stuff that I loved from the books. Harry got beaten up - which I remember happening a lot in the books.
Heroes doesn't start in the UK til the end of this week (I think). but that's one I'm definitely going to watch.
Lost just started again after a short hiatus. :)
And Battlestar Galactica which is one of my must watch shows.
Couldn't get into Jericho, and it's on a bad night for me to watch, and I suck at remembering to set the video.
Don't think we've had the new season of House here yet.
But new seasons of CSI Vegas and CSI New York have just started. I'm not sure what's up with the English accent Clare Forlani is using but it's weird.

Hello, lurker here, since I read Slave to Sensation, which was great.
Yes, watch Supernatural.
I only recently got hooked - I was resisting because I don't really need another TV show and horror is so not my genre (Joss Whedon notwithstanding). And I wasn't really sure about the premise.
Luckily, it is wonderful, except for the odd plotting issue, but I pay little attention to it, because of the horror thing. I watch mainly for the relationship between the Winchester boys, which is a thing of beauty: need another reason to watch? :D (He can act, too! and so can his co-star.)
Other shows I watch are House, Gilmore Girls (at this point, mostly to see how it wraps up, as it's lost some of its lustre of the earlier seasons), Veronica Mars, Boston Legal, and I just started viewing online episodes of Brothers & Sisters, which was better than I expected; I didn't know it was a Greg Berlanti show (he did Everwood) or I would have tuned in earlier.
I think the only one of my shows (plus Tim Minear's Drive (with Nathan Fillion and Amy Acker) which I'm looking forward to, though it hasn't aired yet and has already been cancelled once) not in danger of cancellation is House.
Boston Legal and Greys, Survivor, Shark, CSI and NCIS and for humor 2 and l/2 men.
Lesleyw - LOL on Clare Forlani's accent! That threw me a little as well.
We don't have The Dresden Files here yet so it'll be interesting to see how that works.
Hey Dance! Glad you decided to delurk. Ok, you've sold me on Supernatural (the pic had nothing to do with it *g*). Did you watch Firefly before it was cancelled? I loved that show!
Catslady - CSI is one of my absolute faves (this week is the episode with the miniature crime scene!), and NCIS has really grown on me. The characters don't take themselves too seriously, which makes it a bit different from the other crime shows :)
Grey's Anatomy.
American Idol has kicked off a new season. I'm not into reality shows but something about this one has me hooked.
I agree with lesleyw about Battlestar Galactica. It really makes you think about what's going on in the world right now. I'm really excited that it's being picked up for another season.
I'm also getting into Brothers & Sisters.
Of course, all these are only to fill the time until 3/6. :-)
I forgot Ugly Betty.
Yes, watch Supernatural. It's very good :)
I try not to watch much tv. I'm a news addict. But I have been watching House every now and then.
Does anyone know if Invasion is coming to our screens again this year? After watchign the entire first season, it's a bit of a let down to never find out what happens!
We've been watching Nashville Star. Awesome show...we've seen every season and never miss an episode. Angela Hacker is gonna win this year, I just know it!
New seasons of Monk and Psych have started again. Woo Hoo! The more I watch Psych, the more I love it. Shawn and Guss are totally hilarious!
Stargate and Stargate Atlantis will be starting soon (I think). It's sad to see Stargate come to an end, but I think we'll still be seeing some of our favourite characters show up in Atlantis. It feels like they've slowly been integrating the two, which is cool. :)
I've also been watching The Dresden Files, and I really love it. I'm a HUGE fan of the books. There are some deviations (of course) but overall I think it's a really good adaptation. And the actors they chose for both Harry and Murphy are wonderful. Bob appearing in human form was a bit of a surprise, but I think it works for the TV series, although he is a bit too stiff and dour IMO. The Bob I loved was the wise cracking pain-in-the-ass who coveted his stash of romance novels and was always begging and bargaining with Harry to let him out so he could go have some randy fun. LOL!
And of course, my absolute fave is LOST!!!! Wow...that show just blows me away. It's almost physically painful to have to wait an entire week for the next episode. Hehe! :P I even got my parents hooked on the series, which is kinda strange because they don't normally go for that 'weird' kind of stuff. :)
Oh, and we've also been following Eureka. The new season should be starting in a few months.
I also really enjoy all the Law & Orders (Criminal Intent is my fave) and the original CSI. :)
I love Firefly, too. All of Joss's shows, actually, and the movie, of course. :-)
It's one of the reasons why I'm anticipating and dreading Drive. It's Tim Minear's show - he worked with Joss on Firefly (and Angel, and might have done some Buffy too) - and Nathan Fillion (aka Capt Tightpants) is starring in it. But it's already been cancelled once by FOX...
Someone asked about Invasion? Cancelled. Of course. Shows I like usually are. I loved Firefly and they cancelled that. Ya'll are right, though. Joss Whedon rocks! I miss Buffy and Angel.
The only show I really watch these days is Heroes. Can I just say, "Love it, love it, love it!" First it was "Save the cheerleader, save the world." Now it's "Are you on the list?" Excellent show.
Oh, and we watch American Idol at work now that they're in Hollywood. It's wrong of us, but my co-workers and I enjoy listening and making fun of the contestants. I make little squeaking noises of pain when someone hits bad notes. It's lots of fun. Of course, we usually think someone's going to get booted because they totally stink, and they're the ones who move on to the next level. I like to say our poor guesses are because they probably sound WAY better in the studio than they do on TV. *snort*
I watch Heroes, 24, The Dresden Files,Nip/Tuck some good comedy shows are The Class,Two and a Half Men,Everybody Hates Chris. There were a couple good pilots on over the summer but I don't know if they'll be back on this year,Kyle XY, Three Moons Over Milford and Blade.
I'm really obsessed with Dexter and The Wire. I can't wait for both to come back next season. Being that this was Dexters first season. I wonder did it even come out in the UK and NZ yet. When it does you really need to watch it, its a can't miss show.
Definitely watch Supernatural. Jensen Ackles is just so pretty it would be a shame for you not to drool over him.
I'm all about Jack Bauer! 24 is one of the best shows on t.v. My husband is a huge fan too. As a matter of fact, he registers himself as 'jack bauer' on all the forums he posts on. LOL
For new shows, I love Heroes and Friday Night Lights. Also I'm a HUGE Veronica Mars fan.
....Dance? - I liked Firefly never showed here I had to buy the dvds. film was good too.
I missed The Dresden Files meant to watch that, not that I've read any of the books yet but I hear their good.
Watched Primeval new series hyped as the next Dr Who; wasn't overly impressed.
Lesley - Heroes starts here on the 19th I've got it noted to watch it :) I've heard from so many people how great it is my expectations are high!
Kathy - I forgot Ugly Betty as well. :)
I wasn't too sure about it to begin with, but it's really grown on me. Though some of the moments in it, really make me cringe.
Claire - Thanks for the heads up on Heroes, I knew it was coming up soon but couldn't remember exactly when. Feel like they've been trailing it forever.
LesleyW
Men in Trees is pretty good. I also like Criminal Minds. Love Heroes and Dresden Files. House is always a favorite as are the CSIs. I like Jericho...it was on break for the winter here and is just now coming back.
Dexter!! I download all my shows because French cable sucks, and Dexter was just amazing.
Others I can't do without: American Idol, Brothers & Sisters, House, ER (though that's lagging), Rescue Me, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Dog Whisperer, Weeds, and 24.
Shows I also watch: Grey's (though last week's episode was ridiculous) and Heroes (which I'm enjoying more than I expected.)
Halfway thrugh Season 2 DVDs of Lost (God bless the guy at the restaurant down the street--he watches DVDs on a big flat screen as he cooks, then loans them out to the neighborhood) and I've got Season 3 on the Mac, ready to roll.
I adore the Internet.
Battlestar Galactica for me is by far the best show on TV. The writing and the acting is phenomenal. Every episode makes my heart ache. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have season 1, 2 and 2.5 on DVD and watch them all the time.
I've also been watching Jericho..love me soem Skeet Ulrich, and of course CSI: Vegas only though. Gil Grissom so does it for me!
I can't wait for Dexter - after reading the book, I wonder how they made him work on tv.
p.s. This thread is so bad for my self-control!! I keep finding new shows to put on my must-watch list!
I pretty much have every night accounted for: Desperate Housewives, Men in Trees (mon); Ugly Betty, House, Boston Legal (Tues - dvd House); Cold Case (Wed); Greys (Thurs) Idol (Frid/Sat).... and all the other odds and sods I watch....
