It's a long weekend in my neck of the woods and so far I've caught up on my video watching, eaten far too many Oreo cookies, done some writing, read a book, convinced a telemarketer that I can't speak a word of Japanese (sshhhh) and come to the conclusion that peanut-butter is a food group. What are you all up to? (And what do
you do when telemarketers call?)

When telemarketers call I tell them my dad won't let me sign up for any new service or credit card. Of course, I haven't actually lived at my parent's home for the better part of a decade... :)
Great tactic, Katie. Must remember that one. When my eldest son answers he uses that ploy. I'd just never thought to use it myself. Another I've heard: you say, "I'll just go get my mother." You put the receiver down. You don't come back, but you do wonder how long the telemarketer waited!
You're both so devious...I love it!
I have caller ID on the phone so I know who is calling. When telemarketers call we answer the phone as if it is a busines such as Pizza Dominos. Telemarketers made my life miserable they always call about dinner time.I wish I could get rid of them all.
Lol Barbara. I heard that in some places you can put your name on a list of 'do not call' numbers. Not sure how it works however.
Thanks Nalini!
I called the phone number to removed my name from the telemarketers list about a year o so. However it hasn't work. Sometimes I think that we get back on the list for my spanish last name. Horrible.
Thanks anyway for raising the issue and for the suggestion. I bet this bother a lot of people.
